Position:              Lab Quality Coordinator - ISO 17025

Reports To:         Operations Lab Manager

Position Description

The Quality Coordinator will work with the lab manager and operations teams to ensure all compliance and quality standards are met within the Lab. This role will work in conjunction with a third-party accredited review process, assist Genetic Visions-ST, staff and management with technical competence and compliance, along with adherence and operations under a documented quality system, to guarantee quality compliance of genotyping results to ISO17025 standards.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Assists in overseeing compliance and standards development, from documentation to final product
• Organize, conduce and evaluate audits and inspections by third-party accredited reviewer
• Track and ensure products and procedures meet standards and identify problems to resolve
• Assist with laboratory training programs to ensure that all personnel receive adequate and proper training
• Assists in administrative duties for the laboratory facilities
• Perform non-routine analysis and investigations directed at continuous improvement
• Assists in ensuring effectiveness of quality management system and compliance with ISO17025 accreditation
• Troubleshoots and maintains instrumentation as needed to ensure proper function and calibration
• Modifies Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and work instructions
• Performs other duties as assigned

Requirements

• BS in molecular biology, biotechnology or related fields.  Advanced training preferred
• 5+ years in all facets of a genotyping laboratory, with emphasis on array technologies
• Knowledge of ISO17025 standards and programs
