REPORTS TO: Operations Supervisor
PAY: $18.89 - $25.31 per hour
SUMMARY:
In addition to welder’s primary duties, this position will support and back up the Process Engineering Technicians in a field serve technician capacity.
This position requires travel as needed to sites and trouble shoot equipment problems and repair products in the field.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Two years manufacturing experience with a solid understanding of metal fabrication concepts and processes.
- Must be able to troubleshoot, repair and service products
- Must have welding and powder coating background, lean manufacturing experience
- Must possess superb customer service skill and an ability to diagnose and solve problems from non-technical descriptions provided by customers.
- Must be able to operate a forklift, lifting devices and cranes
- Must possess effective written and verbal communication skills
- Must be able to navigate in a windows based computer environment
- Must be willing and available to travel
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Serve as customer Sales Department technical liaison.
- Troubleshoot and implement corrective actions on a timely basis, including root cause analysis for internal and external reported process related issues.
- Has the authority to stop production when nonconforming parts are detected.
- Understands and demonstrates the 6 core behavioral expectations: Communicative, Motivated, Responsible, Dependable, Inquisitive, and Accountability.
- Must be able to work independently with little supervision
- Provide field service and customer support to include, but not limited to, equipment removal, teardown, troubleshoot, evaluate, repair, test and install.
- Responsible for service reports and related documentation.
- Must maintain a good driving record as defined by company policy.
- Responsible for safe operation of vehicle and following all company policies pertaining to the use and maintenance of vehicle.
- Load and unload material for repair projects.
- Responsible for properly securing materials in vehicle to limit damage to products when transporting for repair projects.
- Must follow all Department of Transportation regulations and guidelines.
- Communicates with customer, supervisor, engineers, production control, quality and other shop personnel as it relates to the job.
- Responsible for maintaining a clean and orderly work area and to follow all safety and field procedures required by the customer.
- Rent required equipment while in the field
- Document ( pictures and commentary) service calls, provide corrective action
- Work with Process Engineering Department and Sales to quote to customer for repairs or replacements.
- Wear all appropriate/required PPE while performing service work.
- As a representative of United Alloy, Inc., it is required to exhibit professional behavior, communication and appearance when working offsite.
