Job Summary

This job would consist of the driving and operations of Schwing and Putzmeister concrete pumps of various boom lengths. The weekly schedule would consist of five, up to ten-hour days with overtime on both a voluntary or mandatory basis for the work week as well as on Saturdays, depending on business level requirements.

  • Pre-trip inspection of concrete pumps pursuant to DOT regulations. Pre-trip inspection includes checking fluid levels of engine oil, antifreeze, tire pressure, brakes and other driver operated controls such as hydraulic systems, line systems, and hydraulics.
  • Fills water tank before each project by placing rubber hose into water tank and filling after checking that all valves are shut.
  • Safely drives to project site that is assigned.
  • Uses map book and experience and takes most direct route to job site to ensure on time service.
  • Safely drives concrete pump into site and works with contractor or homeowner to set up pump in a safe position.
  • Pump concrete pursuant to customer desire with respect to yards per hour in the safest manner.
  • Upon completion, operator will clean out pump systems in the project where desired by contractor or homeowner, in an environmentally responsible manner.
  • Keep pump dispatch informed as to the status of projects via two way radio, digital pagers and cellular phones, if available.
  • Prior to leaving job site, driver is responsible for completing all paperwork and collection of monies if necessary.
  • Each operator is responsible to call callout each day for start time.
  • Each operator is expected to perform a post trip inspection of the concrete pump pursuant to DOT standards and the communications with maintenance is imperative.
  • If not billed out on a pump and called to work, operator may be asked to work or clean on pump, assist at a batch or other related duties.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Class B CDL, Class A preferred.
  • Must be able to pass ACPA Exam.
  • High School Diploma or GED -or- equivalent experience in a similar position.
  • Must be able to read, write and speak English.

Physical Demands

  • This would be considered moderately strenuous work.
  • Work outside approximately seventy percent of the time and indoors approximately thirty percent of the time.
