Job Summary:

 

Snow Shoveler

 

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for clearing sidewalks and walkways using shovels and snow blowers
  • Responsible for applying ice melt to side walks and walkways
  • Must maintain a professional level of workmanship in caring for customer properties
  • Must be responsible, reliable and hardworking

Essential Qualifications:

  • 6 months of related experience/ training in sidewalk snow removal operations
  • Reliable transportation
  • Must pass a background check
  • Able to read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence and memos

Desired Qualifications:

  • Willing to work overtime and in all types of weather conditions
  • Dependable and able to commit to long hours of work when necessary

 

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee is frequently required to talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and outside weather conditions. The employee is frequently exposed to extreme heat and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; high, precarious places and extreme cold. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
