Position Description:

 

  • The Tool Install Project Manager is the operational owner of all assigned Tool Install Construction Scope.

Position Responsibilities:

 

  • Leads construction scope as "owner" within all aspects of the assigned Tool Install Construction projects. 
  • Holds himself/herself personally accountable for successful project delivery and commitments to other individuals.
  • Ensures that all invoices and retention are paid to each contractor.
  • Ensures that all deliverables have been met and turned over to client.
  • Ensures that final cost reports are accurate and assists Tool Install Manager and Finance close-out project.
  • Manages efforts to clear out internal/external project areas of all unused materials, equipment.
  • Turns over completed work that enables full and unencumbered operational capabilities.
  • Implements efficiencies and Lean activities that will support a competitive financial environment. 
  • Forecasts and reconciles monthly budget for construction costs.
  • Ensures that the appropriate level of participation is occurring within the Design Review Process and will provide constructability consultation throughout each phase of the assigned Tool Install Construction Projects, including throughput of all Requests for Information and construction scope change control processes.
  • Owns the timely escalation to management whenever Construction Project Operations and Deliverables are at risk, or whenever help is needed.
  • Verbal contributions that consistently adds value to process, with persuasive arguments that influence peers and management.
  • Can summarize a lot of information into concise and clear documents or emails.
  • Prepares concise presentations with clearly defined problem statements, risks and proposed solutions that are reviewed by project stakeholders and Sr. Management.
  • Provides input and feedback to others in terms of team and individual performance, including matrix personnel that are supporting the Functional Area Construction Project Team.
  • Integration of all 3rd party contributors (e.g. riggers, pump and abatement unit suppliers, analytical testing, valve manipulation, exhaust T&B, Life Safety Systems, Tool Suppliers).
  • Thorough awareness and knowledge of the assigned scope of work, and its connection to the business.
  • Builds and sustains a culture of success, collaboration and predictability in terms of relationships, trust, problem solving, leadership and project management skills.
  • Measures contractor performance against contracted durations.
  • Provides timely and accurate schedule updates.
  • Understands Float calculations and determines /eliminates root cause.
  • Consults on total project lifecycle schedule mechanics, risk elimination.
  • Implements necessary strategies to mitigate gross deltas (+/-).
  • Works collaboratively with other PM's (site and VF).
  • Provides consultation to senior management as required.
  • Understands budgeting and forecasting functionality for both capital and expense projects.
  • Manages the primary trade’s contacts (Architectural, Electrical, Mechanical (HVAC) & Process Pipe) to ensure each build is in accordance with all Construction Specifications, applicable close, Location Specific drawing Packages, Construction Scope Change Control processes and the applicable Terms & Conditions.
  • Manages day-to-day predictable field operations that consistently meets the Master Schedule milestones.
  • Adheres, monitors & verifies quality of project deliverables and Third-party contractor activities to validate that all installations meet minimum performance standards.
  • Drives quality accountability into the supply chain with zero rework as a result.
  • Holds contractors accountable for quality of deliverables and intervenes whenever variables exist.
  • When incidents occur - adheres to incident notification protocol, and leads incident investigation to include root cause analysis, contributing factors and supports actions required to mitigate repeat incidents.
  • Owns meeting all schedule milestones from fabrication start to construction finish.
  • Utilizes the schedule update system, micro schedules, critical chain and other scheduling tools and strategies as appropriate.
  • Understands total schedule mechanics and can build a schedule utilizing scheduling software (e.g. MS Project)

Works directly with the Area Coordinator and Tool Owner to assure all elements of the Layout Release are comprehended and that related Tools can be installed per plan and as depicted on a proposed Layout Release.
