• As a key member of the Project Team, the PSSS PM is responsible for delivering the design for Process Specific Specialty Systems (PSSS) including Specialty Gases (SG), Bulk Chemical Delivery (BCD) and their associated Instrument & Control (I&C) and/or Life Safety Systems (LSS) in support of construction projects. 
  • You will be responsible for the execution of Plan of Record (POR) design for several High-Volume Manufacturing (HVM) facilities using multiple project delivery and execution strategies. 
  • Responsibility includes the Process system’s scope, schedule, and budget for assigned construction projects. 
  • The job role requires interaction with key stakeholders including customer staff, facility owners, central design and site construction to coordinate their needs into the design.

 

Position Responsibilities:

 

  • Coordinate design resources and schedule, managing design output, tech transfer, design quality, change control and approvals, design budgets, and performance management of the architectural and engineering vendor. 
  • Also responsible for ensuring the Design Verification process and Services during Construction (SDC) AE deliverables are executed correctly. 
  • Responsibilities include participation in design reviews, providing constructability feedback to contracted engineering firms, and providing input to design package schedules to support an integrated construction schedule. 
  • Engage in contract and legal & incident investigation, safety training, and project assessment as required. 
  • Overall responsible for the safe and successful completion of the PSSS scope of work to ensure projects are completed with the highest degree of accuracy and success.

 

Position Requirements:

 

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management or equivalent, plus a minimum of 6 years of experience in a construction project engineering or similar role.
  • Experience with construction, startup, and turnover of facilities bulk & specialty gas, bulk chemical systems would be an added advantage.
  • PMP certified is a plus.
  • Ability to work effectively within a variety of management levels, between the customer and the contractors, as well as outside clients and vendors.
  • Strong interpersonal skills or teamwork abilities.
  • Effective at problem-solving, include problem-solving methodologies, research strategies, logical reasoning, critical analysis of information and cooperative learning.
  • Strong verbal, written, and presentation skills.
  • Working knowledge of office personal computer applications.
  • Experience in managing design of PSSS systems.
  • Proficiency with reading and interpreting construction contract documents.
  • Familiarity with design and sizing methods for process gas and chemical distribution and treatment systems would be an added advantage.
  • Excellent knowledge of organic and inorganic chemistry principles, materials (carbon-steel and copper alloys and polymers) chemical compatibility, numerical analysis and statistical data analysis.
  • A demonstrable analytical aptitude for surface physics (high smoothness, high purity piping materials), system hazard assessment appraisals (HAZOP, HAZAN) and process control (Ladder Logic).
  • Basic knowledge and/or understanding of control methods and life safety systems for process gas and chemical systems.
  • Ability to manage workload of multiple projects of varying complexity
