Job Description

The Training and Development Specialist will collaborate with subject matter experts, management, and business stakeholders to ensure employees within our family of companies receive effective, informative and timely, job-related training to improve their skills and knowledge. The Training and Development Specialist will utilize effective and up-to-date training methodologies to create trainings with instructional activities and materials that effectively incorporate adult learning principles.

Responsibilities:

  • Partner with all levels of the business to analyze training needs and design, develop, implement and evaluate training sessions or programs that align with our company’s business goals; especially as it relates to technology and core systems
  • Utilize adult learning theory, training methodologies, and the most up to date industry standards in developing all training sessions and programs
  • Create a travel schedule to facilitate training sessions and programs for a variety of audiences catering the content to each audience
  • Work with stakeholders to ensure training content, delivery methods and schedules are in place for company planned initiatives, and that these align with project goals, milestones and deadlines
  • Coordinate and schedule all training events and associated travel, ensure travel expenses stay within budget
  • Develop strong working relationships with subject matter experts
  • Work with subject matter experts (SMEs) to develop learning curriculums and training approaches for technology, core systems and project related trainings
  • Partner with SMEs to provide measurements or markers of success for all training sessions programs
  • Communicate training session data and measurements of success to stakeholders
  • Develop a plan to ensure training participants have necessary follow-up to maintain high level performance or knowledge retention
  • Monitor existing training programs to ensure they are current and effective, make suggestions for updates and implement associated changes
  • Communicate to all levels of the business on training and development related initiatives and programs
  • Collaborate with other training and development team members on new, innovative ways to maximize training effectiveness and implement improvements to our learning management system (LMS)
  • Create and maintain a process of tracking instructor led training sessions through the LMS
  • Coordinate with training and development team members the creation and delivery of online, classroom offerings, and blended training programs using the LMS
  • Assist in loading courses, rosters, and training events onto the LMS
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • Ability to travel up to 70% of the time including some international travel
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to self-manage time and multiple priorities
  • Strong public speaking and presentation skills
  • Strong oral and written communication skills; ability to communicate complex technical concepts in easy to understand terms
  • Ability to facilitate successful trainings to varying audiences and learning styles
  • Ability to influence, mentor, and be seen as a subject matter expert on training and development for many levels of the business
  • Working knowledge of the ADDIE model, instructional design and adult learning methodologies
  • Must have or obtain upon employment a Microsoft trainer certification (MCT)
  • Ability to collaborate with others at all levels of the organization as well as vendors
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining company and training and development department standards
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Experience with or the desire to learn online learning and design software i.e., Articulate Storyline, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe InDesign, Adobe After Effects, and/or Adobe Premiere
