Position Summary:
This position communicates with suppliers, maintains component control systems and manages inventory to support 100% on-time customer delivery.
Responsibilities:
- Communicates as necessary with vendors and PTAP personnel.
- Maintains sufficient materials on hand to support production and service requirements. Anticipates material availability problems.
- Reviews and issues vendor schedule releases.
- Works with the Quality Department and suppliers to return defective material.
- Works with various departments to resolve material issues and problems.
- Reviews and monitors engineering changes.
- Creates reports, charts as required.
- Supports company compliance with quality standards.
- Supports/supervises store room operations including shipping, receiving, storage and line presentation to achieve optimum material flow.
- Maintains accurate inventory control and records including receipts, issues, scrap, and shipments.
- Maintains cycle count program.
- Maintains optimum inventory levels.
- Identifies continuous improvement opportunities and implements quick win strategies as part of the PTAP Management Operating System (MOS).
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
- Associates degree in a materials, production or technical discipline.
- Two or more years of experience in an Automotive OEM or industrial environment in a material control role.
- ISO 9001/TS 16949 experience preferred.
- Experience with ERP/MRP systems and basic production and inventory control concepts preferred.
- Proficiency in SAP and MS Office.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to communicate clearly in writing and verbally.
- Ability to work on a team and support a team.
Physical Effort:
Light – Intermittent sitting, standing, walking, no physical strain.
Working Conditions:
This position requires one to work in an office environment and manufacturing facility. This position also requires one to work both alone and as a team while maintaining a regular work schedule.
