The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for performing maintenance and providing direction to Maintenance staff to ensure that all tasks are performed in a safe and timely manner, reducing lost productivity within the facility.
Responsibilities:
- Maintains, diagnoses and repairs a variety of equipment, including balers, optic sorters, conveyors, sorting screens, rolling stock
- Ensures duties are performed in a safe, efficient, and effective manner
- Serves as a recognized expert in maintenance processes, procedures and functions
- Trains and mentors new employees
- Assists and directs the daily work of mechanics and other maintenance employees
- Guides team members and ensures that they are following proper safety and work procedures.
- Attends all required safety meetings and conducts all business activities in accordance with Company policies and procedures.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned or apparent.
Education/Experience
- Associates Degree or equivalent technical training
- 10 years of maintenance experience
- Advanced knowledge of electrical wiring, circuits, and switches
- Able to operate a variety of machinery and equipment, including diagnostic tools
- Must possess a valid driver’s license
- Experience planning and creating maintenance schedules
- Excellent problem solving abilities
- Experience with Microsoft Office products
- Ability to work independently as well as within a team environment
- Ability to manage time and multitask
- Ability to communicate effectively
