The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for performing maintenance and providing direction to Maintenance staff to ensure that all tasks are performed in a safe and timely manner, reducing lost productivity within the facility.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintains, diagnoses and repairs a variety of equipment, including balers, optic sorters, conveyors, sorting screens, rolling stock
  • Ensures duties are performed in a safe, efficient, and effective manner
  • Serves as a recognized expert in maintenance processes, procedures and functions
  • Trains and mentors new employees
  • Assists and directs the daily work of mechanics and other maintenance employees
  • Guides team members and ensures that they are following proper safety and work procedures.
  • Attends all required safety meetings and conducts all business activities in accordance with Company policies and procedures.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned or apparent.

Education/Experience 

  • Associates Degree or equivalent technical training
  • 10 years of maintenance experience
  • Advanced knowledge of electrical wiring, circuits, and switches
  • Able to operate a variety of machinery and equipment, including diagnostic tools
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license 
  • Experience planning and creating maintenance schedules
  • Excellent problem solving abilities
  • Experience with Microsoft Office products
  • Ability to work independently as well as within a team environment
  • Ability to manage time and multitask
  • Ability to communicate effectively
