The Fireproofing Installer is responsible for managing all aspects of the daily operations of the fireproofing division.   This includes but is not limited to the acquisition, inventory control, delivery and installation of fireproofing products. This person must ensure that the fireproofing division works in a safe and effective manner at all times. 

This position is also responsible for installing fireproofing in new and existing commercial buildings to the required specifications designated by the material manufacturer.Other responsibilities include:

  • Make necessary preparations for installation process at job site by unloading equipment and placing hose in location of installation.
  • Pulling hose in and out of trucks, up and down ladders. May be necessary to use ropes to lift and lower hose in some circumstances.
  • Install curtains (plastic or tarps) to prevent overspray of fireproofing material. Mask off plumbing pipes, electrical conduit, HVAC lines, windows, doors, etc to prevent overspray as required per job site.
  • Responsible for ensuring that the proper amount of fireproofing is installed evenly and consistently to specified depths and cover all exposed areas.  Also accountable for material usages so as not to exceed estimates.
  • Responsible and accountable for supervising team members to complete fireproofing installation jobs and other necessary work.

Installers have the opportunity to be crossed-trained in several departments to further their growth and provide them with more job opportunities. Departments that Installers may be crossed trained in may include:

Spray Foam
Bibs
Batting
Spray-applied Air Barrier
Levelrock/Gypsum Concrete Underlayment
Retro/Weatherization

We require a pre-employment drug screen and background check.

Required skills, experience and talents:

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Two years of experience with fireproofing application is required.
  • At least 1-2 years of supervisory experience preferred.
  • Ability to travel during the week
