We are seeking an experienced, self-motivated and enthusiastic Manufacturing Manager who will report directly to the Cheif Operating Officer. The Angelus Manufacturing Manager (AMM) is a hands-on role that is a critical part of the company's future success. Having responsibility for critical Angelus operations activities including manufacturing, warehouse, and material handling - The AMM is an experienced, self-directed leader that independently develops and executes a vision to create and maintain a top-performing operations organization. The AMM is a self-motivated, inspirational, enthusiastic, assertive, collaborative and well-organized champion for operations throughout Angelus.

Job Details

This list of duties and responsibilities is not all-inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities, as deemed necessary from time to time.

  • Develop an effective and sustainable manufacturing, warehouse and material handling team via hiring, training, coaching / mentoring, compensation and providing on-the-job development opportunities. Develop documented cross-training/back-up plans for all manufacturing, warehouse, and material handling functions.  Ensure job descriptions are current, complete and consistent.  Participate in annual human resource reviews. 
  • Establish an efficient, scalable and flexible Manufacturing organization. Identify and drive Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) to monitor and improve manufacturing capabilities, including capacity, absorption, quality, and delivery. This includes the development of efficient processes (work instructions, archiving, etc.), systems (production orders, travelers, etc) and appropriate personnel training.
  • Improve the efficiency and performance of Warehouse operations (receiving, shipping and material handling). Identify and drive Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) to monitor and improve Warehouse capabilities, including capacity and quality.
  • Establish and manage the Manufacturing Engineering function within the organization. This includes the manufacturability review of new designs, improved rate and time studies, better in-process documentation and training.
  • Maintain the asset management program (calibration and preventive maintenance) for both engineering and operations equipment.
  • Foster strong relationships with all Angelus functions to ensure collaborative and efficient execution of operations imperatives.
  • Establish, maintain and ensure compliance with quality processes & tools to support operations team and ISO/AS requirements.

Education, Knowledge, and Skills

  • Required: Bachelor’s degree in business management, manufacturing or engineering
  • Required: 4 years hands-on experience with manufacturing and warehouse management
  • Required: 4 years of direct people management
  • Required: Strong, professional English verbal & written communication skills are required
  • Required: Strong proficiency with data, analysis, computers and Microsoft excel
  • Preferred: Manufacturing degree, certification, training
  • Preferred: Experience working at a small business
  • Preferred: Familiarity with RF & ethernet cable technology, aircraft systems, and the Aerospace & Defense market
  • Strong, professional English verbal & written communication skills are required

Supervisory Requirements

This position has managerial and supervisory responsibilities of 10-20 individuals.  The following areas are supervised by the Manufacturing Manager:

  • Assembly Supervisor
  • Warehouse Supervisor

Other Considerations

  • Location: This position will be located at The Angelus Corporation’s facility in Sussex, Wisconsin.
  • Travel: Approximately 10% travel is anticipated.
