In this role, the Application Support Analyst will be responsible for contributing to a team effort in providing solutions that adequately address the customer’s requirements within the agreed time and budget. The T-SHARP Application Support Analyst provides broad, in-depth services to Naval Aviation Training Squadrons, Wings, and Chief of Naval Air Training staff by maximizing and enhancing use of application functionality as a training management system (TMS) and a learning management system (LMS).  The position will also support the collection, definition, evaluation and prioritization of upgrade requirements as presented by the users in supported units.

Specific duties include:

  • Technical Assistance – Respond rapidly to customer issues via email, telephone, and personal visit. Troubleshoot and develop technical solutions to software and setup errors. Create workaround procedures when standard procedures have failed and ensure issues are resolved in a timely fashion.  Escalate urgent problems requiring more in-depth knowledge/technical access to appropriate internal resources in a timely manner.  Document all issues.
  • Software Support – Manage the installation and support for the T-SHARP application on NMCI laptops as required.
  • User Training – Deliver classroom-style training as well as informal, on-the-spot training to CNATRA Support Desk personnel and squadron end users regarding configuration, operation, and data analysis of T-SHARP to support its contribution to the CNATRA student training mission. Assist with the generation of training material.
  • Requirements Management – Follow strict Capability Maturity Model Integration processes for requirements management. New employees will be given an opportunity to learn the process tools Innova employs to ensure traceability of fleet requirements.
  • Team Management Assistance – Represent Innova T-SHARP Support team at program review, requirements definition and development meetings in place of Senior Support Representative in times of his/her absence.
  • Reports Generation – Provide training and guidance in use of various reports within T-SHARP to include instructing users in the building of ad-hoc reports. Use Structured Query Language (SQL) and other internal tools to create canned and ad-hoc reports per user requests.
  • Travel – Local travel between NAS Pensacola (TRAWING SIX) and NAS Whiting Field expected to be frequent. More distant travel to include trips to NAS Meridian may be required, but Infrequent. Participate in and travel to training and program-related conferences as appropriate. May involve travel to underway units afloat or ashore to provide support services on-site.
  • Dataflow Monitoring - Acts as operational analyst for T-SHARP usage; monitor fleet inputs and usage, looks for shortfalls or anomalies and work with Squadrons, Training Wings, senior Support Representative, and Innova to correct as necessary.

Experience Required:

  • Background in Naval Aviation, specifically, Training and Readiness management. Extensive knowledge of SHARP 7.0 and experience operating the system.
  • Strong familiarity with Visual Studios Azure DevOps or similar tool with the ability to effectively document user requirements in the form of User Stories and Bug entries.
  • Understanding of the data flow from the entry point in the squadron, able to analyze the flow and accuracy of Training Progression data.
  • Experience with daily system administration of Windows client workstations/laptops to include installation, configuration, backup management, hardware/software troubleshooting, and the deployment and replication of Microsoft SQL database applications.
  • Due the nature of our business, an ACTIVE, Secret, DoD issued Security Clearance is REQUIRED upon hire

Experience Desired:

  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment to effectively provide complex distributed and integrated mission-critical services and to efficiently solve technical problems.
  • Excellent organizational and analytical skills. Must be able to establish priorities, organize tasks, and direct effective implementation of tasks in a demanding work environment.
  • Excellent communication (oral, written, presentation, documentation) and interpersonal skills. Must be able to communicate with customers in non-technical terms on technical issues and communicate those issues on a technical level with other team members. Must be able to accomplish these tasks both in person and through distance support (email, phone, Zoom).
  • Ability to provide advanced analytical services. Must be able to help aviation personnel understand current training stature and identify strategies to effectively and efficiently utilize limited resources to maximize student throughput.
  • High comfort level with Microsoft Windows and Office products
  • Working knowledge of Internet Information Services (IIS) is a plus.
  • Prepare and present training programs to a wide variety of customer types; with minimal supervision, acts as liaison for product reliability and continuous product improvement initiatives.

Education:

  • Bachelor degree with four years of related work experience or eight years of related experience in field of military aviation.
  • A+ Certification and/or Security + Certification a plus
