Job Description

We are currently seeking experienced, hands on mechanical assembly technician or engineering support person with machine shop skills to join our engineering staff, to work with our team to assemble, maintain, test, repair and troubleshoot our existing products and to assist with prototyping and developing new technology.  This candidate will join and be a key member of our research and development staff.

The ideal candidate will be capable of working in a team or alone and has experience performing mechanical assembly and in modifying machined components to enable assembly.  Candidate should be excited about building new technology and in getting very hands on; must have strong understanding of mechanical drawings and assembly procedures.

Qualifications

• A well-rounded mechanical assembly background is preferred; however, experience with wither mechanical assembly and machine shop tools a must.
• Fabricate and machine simple components and modify off the shelf parts to complete finished assemblies
• Operate milling machines, lathes, band saws and other machine shop tools
• Fabricate prototypes and small run production systems
• Generate test and fabrication documentation as needed
• Experience with electronics, circuit card assembly and wiring not required but highly preferred
• Ability to accomplish objectives in a efficient and economical manner
• Ability to communicate with and become an integral member within the R&D department
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
• Ability to work alone or part of a team
