We are looking for an experienced Account Manager to join our team. Our customers appreciate having a highly responsive, skilled, and professional contractor that they can entrust with projects; and we at Portland Mechanical Contractors (PMC Group) take that trust very seriously.
The role of the Account Manager forms partnerships with our customers and anticipates their needs. S/he is expected to be professional, driven, and have a successful sales track record. The Account Manager is responsible for owner direct negotiated sales, estimates and project manager on a variety of HVAC, plumbing and piping systems. The Account Manager is accountable for maintaining regular contact with customers, building owners and co-workers to meet our customers’ expectations. This position reports to the Director of Business Development and is FLSA Exempt.
Key Performance Indicators:
- Generate maximum revenue annually while maintaining profitability
- Maintain or exceed Booked Margin per Company standards
- Target, establish & maintain 24 new long-term customer relationships annually
- Join and actively participate in industry associations that drive revenue and builds loyal customers
What You Will Be Doing:
- Meet and exceed sales goals and profit margins
- Identify, sell, and negotiate maintenance agreements
- Manage strategies for customer accounts by learning about their organization, key decision makers, influencers and the decision-making process
- Cold call and make minimum appointments as outlined by supervisor
- Prepare and present effective sales proposals to new and existing customers that develop profitable results
- Perform sales administrative duties to include effective cost and risk management, quality assurance and timely execution
- Develop new customers through networking and seeking referrals from current customers
- Identify and effectively participate in industry networking opportunities that drive sales and customer retention
- Document and follow up on leads and referrals using Customer Relations Management (CRM) database per standard procedures
- Promote and facilitate teamwork mentality
- Follow and document annual action plan, including but not limited to: calls, follow up appointments and proposals
- Public relations: resolve complaints and problems; provide information and advice
- Act in "responsible charge" role with customers and coworkers
- Confer with internal team and customers as needed
- Help direct and answer questions field personnel and/or other coworkers on projects
- Review and evaluate contract compliance
- Attend meetings and submit reports (expense reports, sales reports, working agreements) in a timely manner
- Perform additional tasks as assigned
What You Need To Be Part Of Our All-Star Team:
- A practical understanding of mechanical systems, services industry, and customer service
- Proven ability to capture new business
- Desire to service our customers and form partnerships
- Excellent verbal, written, listening, persuasion and interpersonal skills
- The ability to handle multiple projects at the same time
- Ability to interact with customers, field operations, management, and office personnel that fosters constructive and effective relationships
- Ability to work independently with minimum supervision and in a team atmosphere
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- History of good employment attendance
- Valid license and clean driving record required
Education/Experience:
- A degree in Marketing, Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, Business or other Technical degree is preferred
- Minimum three years’ sales experience with mechanical industry is a plus
