B&H Mechanical Services (Indianapolis, IN) is a joint venture between BMWC Group (Indianapolis, IN) and The Hill Group (Chicago, IL) and is fully supported by both firms. B&H Mechanical Services provides design and commercial construction services for the building, healthcare, manufacturing and pharmaceutical markets. B&H Mechanical Services provides full service commercial HVAC, plumbing, sheet-metal, hydronics, process/utility piping, pipe and sheet-metal fabrication, modularization, medical gas, service, maintenance and provide all engineering, BIM/CAD and preconstruction services to support these service offerings.


Job Summary
The primary responsibility of this position is to maintain operational and administrative control of projects to which he/she is assigned, and to develop personnel, build customer relationships and business development in our target markets as to gain optimum profit and growth on a short term and long term basis.

Desired Experience

Minimum 5 years of experience in HVAC, plumbing, hydronics, controls and sheet metal. Preconstruction including design, system evaluation and estimating. Experienced in construction, commissioning and successful turnover of the project to the customer. Has developed strong client relations in our marketplace and maintains an excellent reputation.


Contacts
This position has regular contact with all levels of internal and field staff, the Operations & Executive Leadership Teams, customers, and third-party partners and vendors. This position is considered part of the Construction team and reports to the General Manager, Area Manager or Senior Project Manager.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities


Qualifications Required:
• Five to seven years in project management with responsibility for controlling project outcomes
• Demonstrated ability to effectively manage multiple projects
• Requires the ability and the willingness to estimate at times, estimate Change Orders and manage younger Engineers
• Must have the ability to mentor and teach others
• Must have strong engineering and problem-solving skills; Demonstrated mechanical engineering aptitude, thorough knowledge of plumbing systems and design with a knowledge base in HVAC
• Demonstrated ability to meet critical deadlines
• Demonstrated ability to solve complex technical problems in complex technical environments
• Demonstrated confidence and expertise in dealing with all levels of client contact
• Business Intelligence and/or analytics experience a plus
• Requires an ability to work effectively and efficiently under pressure and adjust to changing situations
• Requires great attention to detail, accuracy, an ability to prioritize and multi-task
• Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills; maintain a professional attitude with strong customer service skills
• Must be dependable, organized and self-motivated with excellent time management and coordination skills; possess personal motivation and a positive work ethic with high integrity
• Able to handle multiple tasks, primarily through planning and resources available to them
• Exhibits solid judgement and decision making
• Good communications skills required

Computer Software Skills:
• Proficient in the following software:
o Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint)
o Internet Explorer/Google/Chrome, etc.
o Scheduling Software - Primavera 6 preferred
o Estimating/Bid Software

Education
Bachelor’s Degree in construction engineering, mechanical engineering, building construction/ technology, management or a related field.

Travel required
While performing the duties of this position the employee is regularly required to sit and work on a computer for extended periods of time.


Physical Requirements
The employee may be required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, lift, carry, pull, grasp, sit or bend over for extended periods. The employee must be able to lift, carry and move up to 40 pounds as needed. Employees in this position must be able to walk around indoor office and warehouse facilities and outdoor job sites with distances up to one-half mile on uneven, paved, gravel, dirt or sandy surfaces.
Other conditions include foul odors, irritating noises, extreme heat, cold and other severe weather conditions, potential harsh movement/vibrations, wetness or humidity, and potential safety hazards.
Employees are expected to have, utilize, maintain and wear all Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required by B&H MECHANICAL SERVICES, the third-party partner, client and any/or other applicable regulatory agency or management directive.
