General Summary: 

The Task Order Manager will be responsible for the implementation of the initiative task order for the entire company.  The Task Order Manager will report to the Sr. Vice President.

Responsibilities: 

  • Responsible for working with Superintendent and project team to assure that the job is set up and managed with the task order process and all are completed to the highest quality standards.
  • Works with division personnel completing task orders in prioritizing work and meeting project/work deadlines as defined in the Task Order and Subtasks. This includes projects are planning adequately, projects are being statused and managed, required adjustments to schedules and plans are being assessed, are adequate and are being implemented, and assessing needed resources across the task orders.
  • Works with project teams to compile daily task order charts for the field staff and monthly Task Order charts for the Monthly Management Reviews.
  • Works with project teams to develop and review project Rough Order of Magnitudes (ROM) for the task orders.
  • Supports management meetings, ROM reviews, and financial reviews relating to task orders.
  • Provides oversight and assesses that the task orders are being developed per schedule and meet quality standards.
  • Works with project teams to review project risks and mitigation strategies and identifies risks that cross multiple projects within the task orders.
  • Works with project teams to identify tasks, organize those tasks and makes assignments to resources with due dates.  
  • Attends required task order and department/contract weekly/monthly meetings.
  • Support company Safety and Human Resources policies and procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements:

  • License: Valid state driver's license as required.
  • Certification: None required.
  • Education: High School Graduate or GED.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years experience in the electrical field working on commercial and industrial projects desired/preferred.

Working Conditions:

  • Job requires working in all elements, depending on job location, time of year, heat, cold, rain, or snow.
  • Must be able to utilize construction site sanitary facilities (Porta-Johns).
  • Work from all types of ladders and be able to transport/relocate ladders unassisted.
  • Employee’s personal weight with tools cannot exceed the rated weight capacity of ladders used.
  • Perform work at various heights, up to 90 feet from ladders, scaffolds, aerial lifts, cat walks and other safe work areas.
  • Work in restricted areas (switch gear-room, manholes, utility tunnels and crawl spaces).
  • Wear personal protective equipment as required
  • Able to work 40 hours per week, occasionally in excess of 40 hours per week as needed.
  • Able to travel to job sites for assigned projects lasting 3 to 4 weeks.
  • 60% Travel Required.

Required Physical/Mental Functions:

  • Comprehend reading of blueprints drawings, and schematics same.
  • Comprehend and practice safe work procedures as outlined in Safety Handbook.
  • Operate company truck with manual and automatic transmission.
  • Read and interpret maps, manuals, work site directions, and written instructions.
  • Operate and work from mechanical personal lifts (electric or gas powered).
  • Must hear and see well (either natural or with correction).
  • Must be able to bend, stoop, squat, crawl, climb, kneel, balance, push, pull and reach overhead.
  • Able to lift objects weighing up to 50 pounds, with frequent lifting and carrying of objects weighing up to 20 pounds.
  • Tolerant to prolonged standing and movement on foot.
  • Climb ladders (all types).
  • Repetitive use of arms, hands, and fingers.
