Job Description: Responsible for successful cultivation activities from seed/clone through harvest, following company policies and procedures and in compliance with state regulations.

Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for the grow portion of operations, including developing a detailed plan and timeline for plant production from seed/clone to harvest.
- Initiates and manages a harvest schedule to consistently meet the demands of the business.
- Assist General Manager in the creation of cultivation employee schedules based on provided demand estimations
- Assist General Manager in the development of employee work schedules based on need and work load
- Assist General Manger in the employee review process of cultivation personnel
- Schedules to ensure adequate staffing at all times.
- Tracks inventory levels and ensures that adequate supplies are available in reasonable quantities.
- Ensures that grow rooms are clean, properly equipped and in good working order at all times.
- Produces a product that meets all lab testing requirements at targeted yield levels with the expected amounts of active pharmaceutical ingredients.
- Clearly sets out a vision for success and educates cultivation members on how their actions and accomplishments contribute to the overall success of the company.
- Establishes and enforces standards of accountability for cultivation staff.
- Completes regularly scheduled quality assessment of plants for signs of pests/disease.
- Ensure staff is trained and follows appropriate SOPs.
- Ensures that all requisite information is maintained in the state required computer system and sire records are up to date.
- Provide work direction to other cultivators.
- Complete inventory audits compliant with state and company requirements.
- Ability to work flexible hours.
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Botany, Horticulture, Agricultural Engineering, or other related field
- Ten years’ experience in a large-scale commercial growing operation in an indoor horticulture environment, with five years at the management level
- Experience with grow data acquisition
- Experience designing nutrient mixes
- Worked in a regulated environment
- Familiar with supply chain software
- Can grow to schedule
- Knows Gavita light systems
- Advanced understanding of horticulture practices including cloning plants
- Ability to identify and remedy plant disease states
- Familiar with good agricultural practices (GAP)
- Can identify and remedy suboptimal nutrient states
- Mechanical aptitude
- Ability to communicate to employees in organization
Physical Demands: Ability to communicate orally with management and other co-workers is crucial. Regular use of the telephone and e-mail for communication may be required.
Sitting or standing for extended periods is common. Hearing and vision within normal ranges is essential for normal conversations, to receive ordinary information and to prepare or inspect documents.
Some heavy lifting may be required. Exertion of up to 50 lbs. of force occasionally may be required. Good manual dexterity for the use of common office and laboratory equipment.
Must be comfortable operating and troubleshooting scientific and packaging equipment.
Good reasoning ability is required to solve a wide range of problems.
Work Environment: The job is performed indoors in a traditional laboratory setting. Exposure to chemicals and laboratory agents is expected. Protective safety clothing, goggles, gloves, facemasks, or hat are required as needed. Activities include extended periods of sitting or standing and extensive work using laboratory and packaging equipment and machinery.
