Position Details

Family Resources is looking for a Finance Technician that has high attention to detail and is organized. This position performs a variety of accounting and administrative duties in the maintenance of accurate fiscal records. This position is also responsible for reporting and monitoring the financial activity of State and Federal grants and handles reporting this activity to various funding sources. This is a professional financial position that requires knowledge of accounting principles, computerized accounting systems, and specifically, the application of the general ledger in a non‐profit environment.

  • Position Hours: Typically between 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday to Friday
  • 40 hour salaried position
  • Full time comprehensive benefits offered.
  • This position will be located in Scott County.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Charges expenses to accounts and cost centers by analyzing invoice/expense reports; recording entries.
  • Pays vendors by monitoring discount opportunities; verifying federal identification numbers; scheduling and preparing checks; resolving purchase order, contract, invoice, or payment discrepancies and documentation; insuring credit is received for outstanding memos; issuing stop-payments or purchase order amendments.
  • Coordinate with third party Accounts Payable vendors for automated payment processes.
  • Maintains accounting ledgers by verifying and posting account transactions.
  • Verifies vendor accounts by reconciling monthly statements and related transactions.
  • Prepares and submits monthly grant funding reimbursement requests to outside funders providing proper documentation to ensure prompt payment.
  • Comprehends current grant reporting procedures while working to maximize reporting efficiency.
  • Allocates payroll expense to various funding sources and programs.
  • Monitors and tracks outstanding accounts receivable and reimbursements from grant funders.
  • Prepares analytical reports of various projects and expense tracking to ensure proper allocation of project disbursements to various grants and internal funding resources.
  • Disburses petty cash by recording entry; verifying documentation.

Qualifications:

Associates or Bachelors degree in Accounting preferred with 2 to 4 years of experience  in accounts payable or other accounting functions.

Must have current proof of car insurance, able to pass driving background check and have reliable transportation.
