The Berg Group is looking for a Construction Project Manager to join our team in Naples, FL! The Construction Project Manager will be joining the Berg Team that has been a respected leader in the commercial drywall industry for over 50 years. As a Project Manager in Naples, you will work with an experienced team, solid backlog and opportunities to grow client relationships. This role will receive a competitive market-based salary as well as a lucrative bonus plan.
The Construction Project Manager will plan, direct and coordinate drywall and steel stud framing construction activities to ensure all materials, layout, and details are in accordance with the project plans and specifications. This ensures that all designated projects goals and objectives are accomplished within the prescribed time frame. The Construction Project Manager will estimate, manage and maintain the project schedule, project estimates and overall profitability of the job. We are seeking a candidate with Direct Drywall/Steel Stud framing industry experience.
Essential Functions
Preconstruction/Estimating/Sales
- Business Development; leverages own client/General Contractor relationships to build new Berg business and be involved in new market development. Manage and grow key client relationships in the Florida market.
- Estimating knowledge in the drywall/steel stud and metal framing space.
- Attend pre-construction meetings and weekly job walks to understand complete scope while ensuring safety, quality and productions are being met.
- Maintains strong knowledge of owned projects and exceeds set standards for their individual portfolio.
Production/Execution
- Review scope of work and identify any potential risks or scope gaps from estimate to award.
- Financial management of project portfolio.
- Coordinate with internal teams to ensure all pertinent information is provided; proactive communication with field leaders on bid productions and other preconstruction related info and maintains consistent communication throughout the project
- Review WIP, billing, change orders, RFI’s, ASI’s, DCN’s and scope changes.
Field Management
- Coordinate site logistics with the client to ensure we are meeting/exceeding production goals.
- Review production reports and address any issues with regional Foreman and Superintendent.
Closeout
- Coordinate with project team and client to obtain final payment and open change orders 30 days prior to job completion and obtain final payment within 60 days of job completion.
Customer Service
- Customer-centric and professional approach to internal/external customers.
- Maintains a high degree of confidentiality in all aspects of the role.
- Communicates change orders to the client in an informative and clear manner.
Education/Experience Requirements
- Technical degree and a minimum 3-5 years of related experience in the construction field; or equivalent mix of education and field experience.
- Proven ability to coach and develop others as well as a team player mentality.
Min Qualifications
- Commercial steel stud construction project management background.
- Ability to read and comprehend complex construction documents i.e. blueprints.
- Base knowledge of document editing software i.e. BlueBeam, Adobe Acrobat and Plan Grid.
- Estimating experience and software knowledge; Plexxis is a plus.
- Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external clients and customers.
- Basic presentation skills to represent information and updates in a group setting.
- Strong computer skills; proficient in MS Excel, MS Word, and MS Outlook, Mac iPad.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree; Construction Management.
- Detail-oriented, deadline/goal-driven.
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced work environment.
- Direct Drywall/Steel Stud framing industry (Estimating and Project Management) experience.
Travel
- Up to 20% primarily in the FL Market.
- Ability to complete regular day travel for site visits and client meetings.
