What You Will Do: You will assist with and gain experience with a variety of environmental projects. The WSB team will work to provide exposure to some or all of these projects, depending on the available workload within the group during the internship.

  • Wetland delineation: Utilize plant identification, hydrology, and soil classification skills to define the edge of wetland boundaries in the field for regulatory purposes.
  • Writing skills: Assist is writing memos, reports, permit applications for various projects.
  • Environmental Regulations: Assist in evaluating projects for conformance with environmental regulations, such as wetland impact, stormwater management, erosion control, and remediation. These activities could include assisting with Environmental Assessments, alternatives analysis, and permitting.
  • Wildlife and habitat assessment: Assist with field review for wetlands, habitat, birds, and bats for renewable energy projects.

What You Will Bring: The successful candidate will be enrolled in a four-year college or university majoring in biology, geology, environmental science, or related field. You must possess a valid driver’s license, have a clean driving record, and have the ability to get to various worksite locations. You must have the ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions and various terrains. You must be at least 18 years old. Travel within the State is a requirement of this position. Our preferred candidate will have completed at least three years towards their four-year degree by May 2020 and who will be returning to school in the fall of 2020.
