Drummac, Inc. is an integrated rail services company that specializes in providing mechanical and janitorial services to the transportation industry. With operations located across the United States, the services we perform range in scope from routine mechanical maintenance, inspections, repairs and cleaning to providing equipment and supplies for the transportation industry with a niche in passenger rail. We provide these services using in-house resources, enabling exceptional quality control enjoyed by few companies in our industry.
 
JOB SUMMARY:
 Responsible for the day to day oversight of multiple projects as assigned. Must be able to travel frequently to oversee and manage project sites.

 Job responsibilities:

  • Serves as the primary contact for the client, and coordinates with the MMS Manager on any necessary adjustments to meet the client’s needs and maintain a positive relationship.
  • Manages a project schedule and partners with support personnel to drive a safety culture, profitable operation, and engaged project team.
  • Plans and launches projects under the scope of work as provided by the client, meeting all deadlines.
  • Monitors the operations of each assigned project and conducts regular safety audits to ensure that the team complies with all safety rules.
  • Supervises employee performance and coaches the team to develop the team for success.
  • Assists with new hire training, policy and procedure compliance, and disciplinary counseling.
  • Processes timecards, maintains vacation schedules, and assigns and ensures training.
  • Wears and uses required protective equipment while on any site, ensuring all team members do the same.
  • Interacts and communicates with the management team as well as Drummac’s client on a regular basis.
  • Takes responsibility for own safety while on the job and drives a safety focus with the entire team.
  • Frequent travel, 50-75% at times may be required.
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Requires High School Diploma or GED (or equivalent reading, writing, and reasoning skills); Bachelor’s degree in Operations Management or Logistics Management, and Project Management certification preferred.
  • At least four (4) years of transportation industry or project management work experience with a minimum of one (1) year at the Supervisor level.
  • Must have strong computer skills including the use of Microsoft Excel, project management software (i.e., Microsoft Project), and email.
  • Must have working knowledge of general HR practices (i.e., onboarding procedures) and relevant laws, for example FMLA and HIPPA.
  • Strong communication (both written and verbal), analytical, and persuasive skills and ability to interact effectively with all levels of clients, employees, and leadership.
  • Must be able to multi-task and have strong supervisory, time management, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • General working knowledge of FRA regulations, OSHA 1910 and 1926 standards, DOT standards and other applicable federal, state, and local regulatory standards.
  • Certain projects may also require other certifications such as 49 CFR 215, 218 229, 231, 236, and 238 qualifications, though Drummac may provide this training to the right candidate.
  • General understanding of equipment capabilities and requirements of different types of jobs.
  • Ability to work in a wide range of environments including those involving hazardous conditions which may require lifting or exerting force exceeding 50 lbs.
  • Ability to work in excess of regularly scheduled hours when necessary.
  • Ability to travel overnight as required by business needs.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment background and substance screening process including, but not limited to, employment verifications, criminal search and Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) search as well continued verifications throughout employment to ensure that all records meet company policy standards..
