Job Summary:

Urban Engineers, Inc. is seeking a part-time Safety Trainer to teach construction safety classes to personnel working within operating rail systems.

Safety Trainer Responsibilities:

• Perform transit rail safety training classes in accordance with FRA safety rules and regulations
• Conduct OSHA compliance safety training classes
• Conduct First Aid and CPR classes
• Manage record keeping for track safety classes in accordance with FRA and Transit Agency requirements
• Work closely with Office Managers to prepare and maintain files for training classes
• Verify that class attendees successfully complete tests and provide documentation to successful applicants
• Travel to client facilities to conduct classes
• Perform other safety related duties as required, including conducting safety audits of projects sites and office

Job Requirements:

• High School Diploma is required
• Bachelor’s Degree in related field is desirable.
• At least 5 years of experience in Transit Rail Safety; teaching OSHA classes and FRA Roadway Worker Safety classes, along with working on operating mass transit rail systems and supervising workers
• Must have OSHA 500 and First Aid/ CPR Instructor Certifications
• Knowledge of heavy civil and rail systems construction industry practices and labor union practices
• Thorough knowledge of OSHA regulations for construction and operations, including maintenance shop work and FRA Transit Rail Safety
• Proficiency with the Microsoft Office software, including but not limited to Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
• Good oral and written communications skills
