Three Rivers Community Action is a non-profit agency providing economic opportunities that strengthen individuals, families and communities in southeastern Minnesota. The agency provides assistance to individuals and families through Housing, Community Development, Early Childhood, Seniors, and Transportation programs and services.
The Planning Director leads the agency’s planning, research, communications and fund development work. The director also oversees the agency’s annual reporting to funding partners, community members and stakeholders. Work products include the agency strategic plan, community needs assessment, annual report, research reports, and outreach materials. The position is also responsible for overseeing the planning and implementation of special projects, including identifying and securing financing for new initiatives. The director serves as a member of the agency’s leadership team, and reports to the Executive Director. This full-time time position will be based in either Rochester or Zumbrota with regular travel throughout Southeast Minnesota.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree and minimum three years of progressive experience in planning, resource development, nonprofit administration, business, communications, or related field
- Strong writing skills and ability to prepare funding applications and complete reporting requirements after funding is secured
- Experience in strategic planning and/or program development
- Experience with fund development, such as government grants, foundation grants, private donor campaigns or corporate giving
- Experience in public speaking and demonstrated ability to work with the public, articulate ideas and work with diverse cultural and economic backgrounds
- Exceptional organizational skills and an ability to handle multiple tasks
- Self-motivated, confident individual with ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Ability to solve problems, identify new solutions and adapt to changing priorities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook)
- Ability to travel within the region (southeastern Minnesota)
