Position Details

Behavioral Health Intervention Service (BHIS) Providers deliver skills training/psycho-social rehabilitative skills training to children and their families in order to re-mediate functional deficits related to and improve child functioning impacted by mental health symptoms.

  • This position is located in Davenport, Iowa

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop and Maintain a working knowledge of Behavioral Health Intervention Services and Medicaid requirements and standards
  • In conjunction with Utilization Management, coordinate tasks related to obtaining client eligibility and authorization for BHIS services
  • Deliver BHIS in a manner compliant with applicable State, Federal, Accreditation, and FRI standards
    • Provide individual and family BHIS services including skills training/instruction and crisis intervention
    • Manage a workload of 40 hours of billable and non-billable service each week.
    • Provide services in a client-centered, strengths-based, professional manner
    • Provide services according to the service plan, consistent with the number of units ordered by the LPHA and as scheduled for each client with the service team
    • Coordinate with  other team members as necessary, monitoring and data collection related to child behaviors/functioning associated with BHIS goals and objectives
    • Monitor utilization of units on a weekly, monthly, and service authorization period basis
  • Complete Service Documentation
    • Prepare & implement a treatment plan with input from client, family, and referral source
    • Document services in a timely manner – complete case notes within 72 hours of service provision
    • Document services in a manner compliant with applicable State, Federal, Accreditation, and FRI standards
    • Complete discharge within 15 days of discharge
  • Professional Participation as a Member of each Service Team
    • Participate in Clinical Supervisions
    • Participate in MHS Team Meetings
    • Participate in Client Staffing’s or Family Team Decision Making meetings as requested Clearly and professionally communicate with other team members
    • Provide back-up coverage for other BHIS staff as requested
    • Participate in program marketing
  • Adhere to the agencies vision, mission and values:

Qualifications:

Bachelors degree in social services field + 1 year experience, OR 20 hours of child mental health training OR Bachelors degree in non-social science field + 2 years experience, OR 30 hours of child mental health training.

Must have current proof of car insurance, able to pass driving background check and have reliable transportation.
