Job Role
InnovaSystems is seeking a Product Manager/Product Owner for its Navy Reserve Readiness Module project. The NRRM project team operates with an agile Scrum process and the Product Owner is the empowered central point of product leadership and the primary voice of the stakeholder community.
The Product Owner defines what to do and in what order to do it. The principal responsibilities of the Product Owner include: grooming the product backlog, defining acceptance criteria and verifying they are met through product reviews, collaborating with the development team and participating in planning activities. The Product Owner will also elicit needs then draft and refine epics, features, and user stories ensuring the product aligns with the customer’s strategic planning. The Product Owner will draft requirements specification and other technical documents as needed and create and manage short and long-range schedules for software releases.
The NRRM team conducts full lifecycle support and works within a DevSecOps integrated atmosphere. The Product Owner will assist the team in meeting security and operational requirements.
Required Qualifications:
- 4 years’ experience formulating requirements based on customers’ needs
- Knowledge or basic understanding of Software Development Life Cycle
- Effective written and oral communication skills
- Working knowledge of MS Office suite
- Ability to work in a collaborative team environment
- Ability to communicate effectively with senior military personnel and engineers
- Ability to create and manage short and long-range schedules for software releases
- An active Secret Security Clearance or the ability to obtain one
Desired:
- Military experience highly desirable, specifically Navy Reserve Forces personnel management, including NROWS, NTMPS, NSIPS, MRRS, PRIMS, NSIPS and others
- Agile development methods (Scrum preferred)
- Agile/Scrum certifications
