We are currently seeking a Region Manager to join our American Lighting & Signalization, LLC team in the Street Light Construction & Maintenance Department.

American Lighting & Signalization is a rapidly growing national outdoor lighting and traffic signal service provider to utilities, municipalities, and state transportation agencies. Based in Philadelphia, we are a full-service contractor offering construction, maintenance and other support services. Essential Duties:

  • Reports to the Sr. VP and manages a staff of office personnel, estimators, supervisors and general forepersons to ensure projects and/or contracts are successfully completed on time and within budget.
  • Reviews project proposal or plan to determine time frame, funding limitations, procedures for accomplishing project, staffing requirements, and allotment of available resources to various phases of project.
  • Establishes work plan for large and complex projects, arranges for staffing for each phase of project, and arranges for recruitment or assignment of project personnel. Reviews historical data to anticipate attrition rate and compensate accordingly.
  • Develops/implements project plans/methodologies for large and complex projects; assists with coordination on multi-disciplined projects to improve communication collaboration and efficient execution.
  • Builds and maintains an effective operations organization committed to employee and equipment safety, customer and employee satisfaction and profitable growth.
  • Builds relationships to ensure customer satisfaction of general contractors, mechanical contractors, subcontractors and end users.  
  • Provides technical and operational support for the estimating team including proper pricing and scope of work definition for project opportunities. 
  • Plans, organizes, directs, and controls all operational activities to assure profitable growth
  • Manages revenue, gross margin and cash-flow to achieve monthly and annual business plans.
  • Monitors project status and controls job costs to maintain margins.
  • Oversees supervision of all installation and retrofit work and personnel to ensure work is done is safe and professional manner.
  • Ensures schedules are maintained and projects proceed in accordance with contract documents and customer expectations. 
  • Determines resource needs (e.g. staffing, tools) and provide any corresponding documentation.
  • Manages or advises on hiring, training and development, allocation and performance assessment of personnel within area of responsibility. 
  • Assists with training and development of operations personnel
  • Engages other departments including sales, finance, procurement, and safety teams.
  • Ensures the proper implementation of all company policies and procedures.
  • Maintains current knowledge of regulatory laws, changes and requirements and ensure compliance.   
  • Advises and implements industry/field best practices to improve products and services.
  • Represents American Lighting and Signalization, LLC in industry associations, professional organizations and affiliations and develops relationships with customers, contractors and community leaders.

 

Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience:

 

  • Bachelors’ Degree in related field.
  • Five years of engineering or project management experience in the installation and maintenance of Utility Lighting systems or related field with at least three years of supervisory or management experience.
  • Required travel: 40%
  • Demonstrated understanding of financial reports and ability to implement cost controls.
  • Excellent listening, oral and written communication skills in English.
  • Excellent organizational skills (must be able to handle multiple tasks and duties effectively).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Project.

 

Minimum Requirements

  • Due to the inherently hazardous nature of the industry and requirements to work with or around equipment, employees must be able to maintain attention and concentration for extended periods of time.
  • This is a minimum 45-50 hour per week job.
  • Must be able to wear PPE as necessary.
  • Must be able to safely drive an approved company vehicle.
  • Must be able to withstand exposure to all kinds of weather while completing work assignments, i.e., rain, heat, sun, cold.
  • Must be able to traverse various terrains.
  • Must be able to write, read and comprehend written and verbal job instructions/information.
  • Must be able to communicate and handle confrontations professionally.
  • Must have a valid driver's license.
  • Must pass a background and/or MVR check.
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug test.
