Location: Iowa City, IA

Position Type: Regular Full-Time/Exempt

Travel Required: Typically in the Cedar Rapids & Iowa City areas, May include remote work with overnights

 

Role & Responsibilities:

  • Primary On the Job Duties
    • Plans, Directs, Organizes and Controls multiple construction sites
    • Represents Metro Pavers and communicates with General Contractors, Sub-contractors, City Officials, Iowa DOT officials
    • Accepts and manages Change Orders (Cos) and Request for Information (RFIs) requests; directs Cos and RFIs to the Project Manager
    • Directly supervises Assistant Field Operations Managers, Crew Supervisors and as needed Site Foremen
    • May create and review annual performance reviews and discipline actions
    • Creates, supports and promotes technical training programs for field personnel
    • Supervises site mobilizations, demobilizations and logistical operations including movement of equipment, materials, tools, and staff
    • Creates take-offs for equipment, materials, tools and labor requirements
    • Reviews/makes recommendations for bid estimates and post award budgets
    • Attends daily scheduling meetings either in person or remotely
    • Supports the hiring of Assistant Operations Managers, Foremen, and Crew Supervisors
    • Promotes Job Safety compliance and as required may create and review OSHA and/or regulatory required compliance reports
    • May manage remote site base operations including all Field Operations to include base accommodations and all logistics required to support the base of operations
    • Accountable for all assigned resources including funds, materials, tools, vehicles, and equipment
    • Reads and interprets project plans and specifications; constructs project in accordance with plans and specifications
    • Understands project phasing and determines efficient pour layouts;
    • May calculate, record and communicate production quantities; calculate and record other materials as required for the site pour
    • May direct the proper use of large equipment as per Standard Operating Procedures (SOPS)
    • May in the absence of the Assistant Operations Manager/Crew Supervisor/Foreman manage a construction site
    • As required operates a motor vehicle
    • May perform other related duties as assigned

    • Promotes and supports safety programs as outlined in company and regulatory Standard Operating Procedures (SOPS) and requirements as applicable

    • Promotes the enforcement of company policies and procedures
