We are searching for our next Accounting Assistant/Certified Payroll Specialist with an interest in performing certified payroll reporting for Walsh Construction Co. and RDF Builders Co. The role will also monitor subcontractors for compliance.

You will be responsible for:

  • Preparing and submitting certified payroll documentation for Walsh Construction Co./RDF Builders Co. for all prevailing wage projects.
  • Meets w/Owners or relevant Agencies and project teams to determine certified payroll reporting requirements.
  • Drafts project-specific certified payroll packets communicating the requirements and process for project subcontractors.      
  • Conduct subcontractor training sessions regarding prevailing wage requirements and reporting.
  • Provide required wage decisions to subcontractors and Walsh/RDF payroll department.
  • Gathering, monitoring, tracking, submitting and archiving certified payroll documentation for all subcontractors and Walsh employees on prevailing wage projects.
  • Maintaining filing system for certified payroll records.
  • Filing wage determination requests for HUD projects.
  • Filing Washington State intents and affidavits.
  • Alerting project teams to any certified payroll issues existing on projects.
  • Coordinating resolution of payroll compliance issues.
  • Providing close-out tracking of certified payrolls when necessary.
  • Serving as the point of contact with City of Seattle Office of Housing for B2GNow/LCP Tracker.
  • Providing information to Subcontracts Payable regarding non-compliance of subcontractors.
  • Assisting Subcontract Payables with subcontract compliance/supplier lien release tracking as directed.
  • Assisting with other administrative finance tasks, as needed.

You are qualified if:

  • You hold a high school diploma or equivalent. A relevant combination of education and experience will be considered.
  • You have one to three years of experience on a payroll team, with construction and/or certified payroll experience preferred.
  • You are proficient with Excel, Word, and Outlook. Viewpoint software experience preferred.
  • You are a positive team player who is skilled in efficiency, organization, and multi-tasking.
  • You are skilled in communication with an ability to interact with people at all levels.
  • You are able to perform independently and make good decisions.
  • You can demonstrate your ability to exercise discretion.
