As a pioneer of cutting edge technology, we grow to meet the needs of the composites industry. We currently have an opening for a Batch Maker at our Hawthorne, California manufacturing facility. Job Summary:
• Follows Company and Site policies as related to Health, Safety, and Environment.
• Demonstrates good housekeeping techniques and maintains a clean work environment.
• Operates a forklift inside and outside of the plant moving drums and pallets of raw materials safely.
• Compounds polyester resin products according to batch manufacturing instructions.
• Labels and stencils drums.
• Fills drums of finished materials and moves these drums from the filling location to the warehouse.
• Disposes of hazardous and non-hazardous materials according to documented procedures.
• Uses computer-based systems while performing assigned tasks.
• Reviews and updates Standard Operating Procedures and Site Work Instructions.

Minimum Job Requirements:

  1. Ability to wear a full face respirator as required.
  2. Follow all safe work practices related to the Hawthorne site.
  3. Must be capable of learning the duties of a worker in a chemical plant environment.
  4. Read and interpret batch sheet and resin manufacturing production.
  5. A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  6. Must be able to lift, pull and push 55 lbs.
  7. Must be capable of operating a forklift, filling drums with resin to the exact weights, loading chemicals into reactors, making small batches and doing other jobs as assigned.
  8. Uses Company standard computer and software systems to facilitate job tasks. Examples include Lotus Notes, and Microsoft products such as Word, and Excel.
  9. Must be able to work 10:30 pm – 7:00 am OR 2:30 pm – 11:00 pm – Training M-F 6:30 am – 3:00 pm.

Ideal Candidate:
• Be able to understand written instructions and follow all company policies.
• Attend monthly safety/quality meetings.
• Work safely in a chemical environment.
• Be able to wear personal protective equipment including a full-face respirator.
• Be able to hear a variety of warnings.
• Must have strong math skills.
• Previous chemical operations experience is a plus.
