Position Overview:

The Heavy Highway Project Manager/Estimator will be responsible for managing and coordinating public and private projects. The Heavy Highway Project Manager/Estimator is a full time position, requires regular travel and overtime with occasional weekends through peak season. This position reports to the Division Manager and has supervisory responsibility.

Essential Duties and Functions:

  • Onsite management for private and public jobs ($500,000 - $15 million)
  • Maintain a safe working environment for all activities on project
  • Understand federal, state, and subcontractor contract requirements
  • Understand construction specifications
  • Coordinate all aspects of the job and project phasing (i.e. comply with state and federal regulations, schedule subcontractors, and company resources, etc.)
  • Maintain weekly and monthly project schedules
  • Oversee plant, paving, QCQA operations
  • Knowledge of project estimate structure, participate in estimating/job reviews
  • Assure daily quantities are accurate and submit for payment.
  • Review timecards and daily job cost. Participate in monthly projections.
  • Maintain correspondence with owner and/or project engineer
  • Communicate regularly with Division Manager
  • Recruit, develop, train, and retain workforce

Position Requirements:

  • High level of reasoning abilities (i.e. Meeting deadlines, Prioritize Company and customer needs, serve as a leader to both peers and direct reports)
