ROLE SUMMARY: 

Provide overall administrative and technical management of Mechanical, Electrical, and/or Plumbing construction project site from bid acceptance through final acceptance by client. 

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Supervise total construction effort to ensure project is constructed in accordance with design specifications, budget and schedule.  Includes interfacing with client representatives, subcontractors, vendors, etc.
  2. Conduct pre-construction and post construction meetings.
  3. Complete job cost breakdowns and schedule of values.  Review and approve all project billings.
  4. Schedule and coordinate the completion of submittal data, operation and maintenance manuals, shop drawings, and as-built drawings in accordance with the construction schedule.
  5. Supervise trade employees and/or other subcontractors as required by the contract.
  6. Provide technical assistance, i.e., engineering, interpretation of drawings, recommendation of construction methods and equipment, etc., as required.
  7. Initiate and maintain extra work estimating and issuance of change orders.
  8. Conduct on site visits/inspections as required ascertaining productivity of trades, efficient use of materials and equipment, and contractual performance of the project.
  9. Act as a liaison between trades and other departments within the company.
  10. Provide field employees with the necessary support to allow the project to be completed expeditiously.
  11. Distribute, follow up, and respond in writing to all punch list items in a timely manner.
  12. Provide project status reports during weekly staff meetings.
  13. Attend weekly project management meetings and provide project status on those items directly related to department.
  14. Monitor project costs and forecast future project costs monthly.
  15. Perform additional assignments per Senior Project Manager's direction

 

Job Qualifications and Skills:

  • Four-year engineering degree or equivalent combination of previous Mechanical construction and/or engineering office related experience.
  • Minimum of five years construction or engineering project management in the Mechanical industry. 
  • Thorough knowledge of all aspects of Mechanical construction including:  technology; equipment; methods; engineering; estimating; schedules and safety required.  Excellent communication, organization and supervisor skills are essential.
