We are seeking a qualified Traffic Control Technician to join our innovative construction team for the 2020 Construction Season (May to November)!

POSITION SUMMARY

Under the direction of the foreman, superintendents and project managers, this position will be responsible for setting up and maintaining traffic control devices placed on various construction projects throughout SE Minnesota.  Job will require basic knowledge of the Minnesota Temporary Traffic Control Field Manual.  This position will need to supervise the selection, placement and maintenance of traffic control devices in temporary traffic control zones. Training and Certification as a MnDOT Traffic Control Supervisor is required. Rochester Sand and Gravel will provide the training required to become certified.

This position is full-time seasonal working May through November (weather permitting).  Average work days usually last up to 14 hours, requiring overtime and working Saturdays.  Travel may be required in Southeastern, Minnesota; however, workload may also require further travel under unique circumstances.  Qualified overnight stay will be compensated with per diem. 

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Reliable transportation to work
  • Valid driver’s license required
  • Physically fit to perform the job functions including the ability to stand, squat, bend, lift, and walk for long durations
  • Able to communicate effectively and work in stressful situations
  • Ability to listen and take direction from others
  • Willingness to be a team player and help train less experienced employees
