Summary
At Balfour Beatty Construction in Wellington, Florida, we are seeking a Sr Project Engineer. This individual will Assist the Project Manager with planning and daily execution of construction projects. Responsible for tracking all submittals and material deliveries and maintaining schedules and budgets and coordinating material and equipment deliveries. Coordinate all procedures, correspondence etc. with the office manager. Review and process all submitted data and shop drawings. Ensure all submittals, deliveries etc. that affect the project schedule are expedited and delivery schedules are coordinated with the Superintendent. Ensure pre-work meetings are completed and documented for each subcontractor, including material deliveries and site-specific safety and quality control issues. Prepare weekly and monthly status reports and monitor/review weekly subcontractor meeting minutes, change orders, etc. Distribute change documents to subcontractors and prepare change proposal requests for price review. Ensure all changes, clarifications directives, RFIs, etc. are updated on “as-built” plans and coordinated with company supervision and subcontractors/suppliers. Responsible for close-out documents. Maintain and follow-up tickler board system issues, RFI logs, and change request log.
Requirements:
- Master of Science degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management
- Proficiency with updating schedules, and reviewing price estimates from subcontractors for proposed changes
- Understanding of Florida’s Building Code, including requirements for High Velocity Hurricane Zone
- Proficiency and understanding may be gained through education, employment, internship, or training
