JOB DESCRIPTION

The Personal Shopper loves the brand, loves our products, and is passionate about bringing our products and services to life for our customers. He/she must drive sales by delivering extremely high quality customer service and building strong repeat customer relationships. The Personal Shopper is directly responsible for capturing, executing, and managing large sales for high-end customers and any customer with a special request or need both internally and externally. The Personal Shopper must effectively manage store operations, ensuring consistency and compliance with all company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Responsible for the overall in-store gifting team’s performance, goal setting, and performance reviews
  • Day-to-day management, communicating tasks, staffing, and scheduling of the gifting associates/receptionist workforce with particular emphasis on customer service
  • Partners with the Sales Manager on completing gifting associate/receptionist schedules to meet the needs of the department while still controlling payroll
  • Ability to run the sales floor as the Manager on Duty (MOD) and drive strong hourly sales and Key Performance Indicators (KPI) results in the moment
  • Monitor the accuracy of sales goals reporting and communication
  • Train new hires and issue on the spot training and development of all associates as needed to ensure full potential is reached
  • Ensures company standards are met for store and associate appearance at all times
  • Communicate any staff, product, and operational issues within the store to the General Manager (GM) and/or Assistant General Manager (AGM) in a timely fashion and assist with executing action plans to improve
  • Consistently focused on customer experience and creating a welcoming and energetic environment for the customer
  • Demonstrates desired behaviors and leads by example by training assistant store managers, supervisors, leads, and associates to utilize Dylan’s Candy Bar’s four service skills
  • Establishes and maintains a positive work environment that supports high team member morale and retention
  • Leverages individual associate and management strengths, and creates developmental plans to build bench strength for future growth within the organization
  • Observe the sales floor and make sure the business is running effectively and smoothly in a clean, stocked, and presentable store
  • Perform all opening and closing procedures to company standards
  • Follow all cash handling procedures and issue register audits
  • Manage staff breaks as needed
  • Timely and appropriate follow-up communication on tasks, product issues, customer feedback, and business opportunities as needed
  • Training and developing sales techniques to build and capture larger sales in creative ways
  • Working directly with the Corporate Gifting Manager and Corporate Personal Shopper to coordinate and execute sales that need to be handled through the stores
  • Passing along external corporate order inquiries to the Corporate Personal Shopper and managing a customer binder for all in-store personal shopping sales over $500 to communicate with the corporate shopper monthly
  • Presenting fair and accurate pricing for personal shopping orders and add-ons
  • Making necessary judgement calls and partnering with store GM/AGM or Corporate Gifting Department to give extra discounts and make exceptions as needed
  • Ensuring store phones are always covered, calls are being fielded to the appropriate parties, and messages are being followed-up with
  • Maintaining a neat, clean, and organized work space
  • Properly following up with customers on order processing, tracking, and pricing as requested
  • Creating proto-types for custom baskets and personalized items as requested
  • Ensuring all product is fully paid for prior to it leaving the building
  • Ensuring shipment processing and lead times are properly communicated to the store and any customers placing time-sensitive orders
  • Following SOPs for fulfilling personal shopping and corporate gifting orders from start to finish
  • Keeping up to date order information and customer records
  • Prioritizing in-store product liabilities and time-sensitive seasonal merchandise when making recommendations to customers.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the GM and/or AGM

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Extremely detail oriented and strong with customer follow-up and communication
  • Excellent organizational, decision making, problem solving, and teambuilding skills
  • Exemplary interpersonal skills to communicate with confidence to both internal and external customers as well as corporate partners
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule which will include nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Training and Development: Ability to lead and develop a high performing team and hold the team accountable to Dylan’s Candy Bar’s standards and expectations
  • Ability to plan, prioritize, and proactively react to the needs of the business with a sense of urgency in a high paced environment
  • Ability to use/learn Microsoft Suite, Adobe, and Illustrator
  • Demonstrates strong listening, written and oral communication skills
