Hawkeye Paving Corp. is a family owned and operated paving and underground utility general contractor located in Bettendorf, Iowa, since 1983. We are a full service general contractor working with both private and public entities consisting of but not limited to, storm sewer, sanitary sewer, water main, erosion control, grading, excavation, pavement removal, traffic control, heated concrete flooring and pavement of all sizes, shapes and thicknesses.

Job Description
Qualifications/Requirements

• 2+ years of experience as a mechanic
• Must be dependable and on time
• Broad mechanical & electrical repair and maintenance experience
• Must be safety conscious
• Effective with written and verbal communication skills
• Able to adapt to a changing work environment and work assignments
• Willing to work 40-50 hours 
• On the job training provided
• Own tools is a plus
• Welding experience is a plus
• CDL is a plus

Will be performing diesel engine repair, gas engine repair, hydraulic systems, trailer repair, electronic diagnostics, suspension, drive train and preventive maintenance.

Physical Requirements:

• Work shall be performed in a maintenance shop setting, both indoor and outdoor.
• Will be subject to a moderate amount of noise and vibration from shop equipment and to a variety of weather conditions.
• Physical exertion may result from prolonged standing, sitting & climbing.
• Work will sometimes be accomplished in cramped and awkward positions while installing items and reaching lifting and bending while using hand tools and power tools.
• May occasionally be required to lift weights exceeding 75 lbs. 
• Will occasional work in confined spaces in close proximity to grease, oil, fuel, lubricants and solvents.
