MILL OPERATOR

InHarvest a premier U.S. producer and procurer of some of the world’s most distinctive grains, beans and legumes for foodservice is seeking a Mill Operator for the Processing Department in Colusa, CA. The Mill Operator is responsible for the daily operations of the product flow through the mill of wild rice during the harvest season and custom processing loads for parboiling.

Mill Operator responsibilities are to:

 

  • Complete Work Orders
  • Ensure all lot codes match on tote tags, work orders, bagout sheet, CP’s sample bags, and operator run sheets.
  • Run product in the line following HACCP procedures.
  • Perform preoperational checks, equipment adjustments, line inspections, clean all equipment.
  • Clean all equipment in the line or area when changing products in the line following the Written Cleaning Procedures.
  • Make sure proper weight is recorded on tote tags, work order, bagout sheet, CP’s, sample bags and operator run sheets.
  • Know and understand all processing equipment from receiving, mini mill #1 and #2, and from bins 13 and 14 to final bag-out tank.
  • Make sure all the necessary checks on the line are performed according to InHarvest programs and samples are pulled from the line for lab analysis.

 

Job Requirements for the Mill Operator are to:

This position requires a person experienced and/or ability in the following:

  • Experience in food manufacturing.
  • Good communication skills relating to employees
  • Basic reading, writing, and math skills.
  • Knowledge of the manufacturing processes, procedures, and machinery.
  • Have knowledge to perform basic maintenance of mill equipment. i.e. replace drive belts, spice conveyor belts, change bearings, and change electric motors.
  • Forklift experience and safely operate forklift.
  • Knowledge of HACCP, GMP’s, Allergen Control Program, Food Plant Security, Glass and Hard Plastic, Quality related policies, and Safety programs.
  • Dependable and flexible to rotate shifts work overtime.
  • Disciplined work style towards tasks; a flexible style towards people
  • Can follow instructions or lead others.
