CURRENT OPPORTUNITY:   CDL Truck Driver

The committed, qualified truck driver with a CDL license and tank endorsement will safely and efficiently transport various construction equipment and/or materials to, from, and between construction sites and the shop, both inter and intra-state. The driver must be flexible and adapt easily to schedule changes while on the job. The driver must be familiar with all federal, state, and local OSHA regulations as well as Reiman Corp safety policies, and be able to perform the required tasks in a safe manner in all conditions, whether supervised or unsupervised.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Must have a valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) and applicable endorsements
  • Must be insurable through company insurance carrier
  • Must have a Class A driver license in good standing (a Motor Vehicle Report will be obtained)
  • Must know and comply with all federal and state motor carrier safety regulations
  • Comply with all DOT and in-house rules and regulations
  • Must have experience hauling equipment
  • Will regularly use a lowboy and flatbed trailer - Must operate various types of equipment to load and unload
  • Maintain vehicle to comply with all safety standards
  • Conduct daily inspections of vehicle at the end of each shift and report and problems or damage to management
  • Complete daily and weekly truck logs and submit mileage and inspection reports
  • Complete transfer logs on all equipment movements
  • Properly fill out self-issuing permits for oversize and/or overweight vehicles
  • Will be required to assist in the loading and unloading of the truck and/or trailer
  • Must obey and pass drug testing regulations as required by federal and state department(s) of transportation and company regulations

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Education and/or Experience
    • High school education or GED required; Class A driver license in good standing; CDL license with tank endorsement is a necessity; No serious tickets or accidents in the last 5 years; No DWI/DUI in the last 10 years; 2 or more years of commercial driving experience required.
  • Language Skills
    • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
  • Mathematical Skills
    • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Reasoning Ability
    • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.  Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Computer Skills
    • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of spreadsheet and word processing software.
