Inspector Level II

Reports to:               QA Supervisor                          

Department:             Inspection

Classification:            Non-Exempt FLSA                           

Job Function:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Perform diversified precision mechanical inspection as required to maintain quality standards on parts and assemblies at Receiving, In-process and Final Inspection.

• Devise efficient inspection set-ups with gauging fixtures, standard inspection equipment as needed (examples of inspection equipment below).

• Run analytical part inspections on CMM, gear checker or other comparable measurement equipment. Experience programing parts analysis is a plus.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as, work orders, safety rules, specifications, quality plans, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to write legibly and create routine reports.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings, including geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
• Proficient in MS WORD, EXCEL. Experience in MINITAB or other statistical analysis software is a plus.
• Ability to effectively communicate with co-workers, suppliers and customers.
• Follow all company policies, safety rules, and practices.

In addition to the essential duties and responsibilities above, additional requirements include:

• The candidate must be able to have the flexibility of schedule to work when needed on first or second shift (not anticipated to exceed four weeks per year).
• Applicants will be given a test to assess their attention to detail, level of experience in QA testing and inspection techniques.

Education and/or Experience:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED)

College degree a plus

Certificates, Licenses, Registration – ASQ Certification(s) preferred
