Job Summary
As a Loader / Dozer Operator on our team, you will work in gravel pits or at job sites to excavate, load, or move aggregate and mix using a track or wheel loader.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Safely operates loader to excavate, move, and load earth, rock, gravel and other materials.
- Loads trucks efficiently and uniformly.
- Loads bins, hoppers, asphalt plants and other equipment efficiently and uniformly.
- Keeps load/bucket counts and fills out all appropriate paperwork.
- Works closely with other crew members using hand signals to coordinate work and ensure safety.
- Keeps equipment clean and prepares equipment for transport on flatbed when needed.
- Performs daily inspection and maintenance and ensures that machine is in safe, proper working order including fluid checks and proper lubrication.
- Reports to shop when equipment needs maintenance and repair.
- Maintains orderliness, cleanliness and safety at job site.
- Follows Supervisor’s instructions closely.
Skills and Abilities
- Understand and adhere to all safety regulations.
- Understand and adhere to the Personal Protection Equipment requirements.
Qualifications
- MSHA, preferred but not required.
- OSHA, preferred but not required.
Work Environment/Physical Demands
- Effectively handle lifting of various objects weighing up to 80 pounds.
- Walk, bend, kneel, lift, stretch and sit.
- Work extended hours out of doors in a variety of weather conditions.
- Travel and some Saturday work are required.
