Job Summary

Efficiently produce high quality plant-mixed products at the required production rates. Reports to Superintendent, Construction Manager, or Operations Manager at our I-85 highway project in Gaffney,SC. 

Essential Functions

  • Set-up, operate and take down plant as assigned.
  • Maintain and service equipment assigned to plant operation.
  • Monitor material inventories and coordinate material deliveries.
  • Verify proper input of mix design components for proper mixing of products on a daily basis.
  • Report daily production quantities, material usage, equipment usage and fuel consumption.
  • Operate dust control systems to conform to EPA regulations.
  • Maintain/provide records for plant permit requirements/assure compliance.
  • Maintain plant area in an orderly manner.
  • Maintain good working relationship with owner's representative/inspector.
  • Maintain highest level of safety in all construction activities; enforce all company safety rules and company policy.
  • Operate equipment safely and efficiently;
  • Monitor complete workings of batch-type concrete batch plant, including the following for proper working condition:
  • Mechanical components;
  • Electric components;
  • Electronic components

Required Skills & Experience

 

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in ready-mix operations, concrete operations and/or construction industry required
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a supervisory role required
  • Self-directed, results-oriented, and highly motivated, requiring minimal direct guidance
  • Ability to lead and motivate others; prior experience effectively managing a team preferred
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities, problem-solve, and work under consistent pressure of deadlines
  • Valid drivers’ license and ability to maintain a clean motor vehicle record required
