Our agri-business and bulk-material handling business is seeking an experienced Millwright Superintendent.  Applicants must live in Iowa or surrounding states.

General Information:

  • Salary Range: $30-$40/hr, based on proven skills
  • Per Diem: $125 per overnight stay while traveling for PMI
  • Must Be Willing to Travel: Normally Monday through Friday, occasional weekends
  • Overtime Available

Duties:

The individual will manage field employees, timelines and project completeness.  The Superintendent is responsible for following and enforcing company employee/safety policies, as well as complete daily reports and timesheets electronically.  The Superintendent will interact directly with PMI customers and will conduct themselves professionally at all times and in all situations.

Responsibilities:

  • Know and apply all relevant OSHA, PMI and customer safety policies, procedures and practices.
  • Cut, weld, layout, read and comprehend prints.
  • Manage appropriate vehicle maintenance and care, as well as all tools assigned to that vehicle.
  • Communicate with Operations Manager and field employees.
  • Supervise and develop trade skills of field employees.
  • Work overtime as projects require.
  • Properly maintain PMI tools and safety equipment through daily inspections.
  • Complete appropriate paperwork including timesheets, daily field reports, back-ups, pictures of various stages of the project, etc.
  • Supervise day-to-day activities of PMI sub-contractors.
  • Lead weekly safety training.
  • Supervise on-site crane and rigging procedures.
  • Set up and operate a variety of powered, hand-held drills, grinders and saws, as well as appropriate non-powered hand tools required to perform tasks.
  • Climb and work at heights of 200 feet.
  • Travel to where PMI contracts work.
  • Complete all other duties as assigned.

Educational Qualifications Desired:

High School diploma or equivalent desired.  Consistent with company values the candidate must have the desire to learn new processes as well as continue training in given trade to develop skills.

Competencies and Experience Desired:

  • Previous project management experience.
  • OSHA 30 Hour-Construction.
  • Ability/experience with effectively managing and developing people.
