Position Summary

As part of the Human Resources Shared Services Team, the HRIS-Compensation Analyst supports Human Resources, Benefit and Compensation programs through data management and administration of HR systems.  Provides reports, data and analysis using various analytical reporting tools. Conducts compensation analysis and administration processes, including market based and point factor job evaluation, job record classification and maintenance, market pricing, survey submissions, salary planning, and incentive administration.

Job is located in Dallas, TX. Responsible for data management and reporting for HR Systems, including Benefits, Payroll, Headcount, Compensation and Performance Management and Benefit Administration systems. Assists with the administration of national human resources and benefit services, initiatives, programs, best practices, research and documentation. 

Essential Functions

  • Write, maintain and support a variety of reports or queries utilizing appropriate system report writing tools. Designs and creates ad hoc reports as needed to respond to surveys and other data requests.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot technical system issues; consults with vendor(s) on system issues; and provides technical training as needed to end users. Work closely with JDE HCM/Payroll Business Analysts.
  • Proactively identify external survey sources to supplement existing market information and recommend and implement approved improvements to the annual compensation program and other compensation practices.
  • Use analytical and quantitative techniques to prepare regular, periodic analyses of pay practices, compensation actions, raises, promotions and other types of compensation.
  • Gather data and perform statistical analysis and interpretation of information to develop and adjust salary grades in accordance with company goals.
  • Assist with research, analysis, administration, and communication of executive compensation and perquisite programs.
  • Assist in the development of benefits, compensation communications, presentations and training.
  • Complete audits and assessments for impact and effectiveness of compensation plans.
  • Monitor and interpret FLSA and other federal, state and local laws regulating compliance for company salary and pay policies.
  • Classify job descriptions for all current and open positions, working in conjunction with talent acquisition, human resources and hiring managers to define duties and responsibilities while ensuring regulatory compliance.
  • Provide plan administration support for retirement plans. 
  • Partner with internal benefits team and vendors to research, analyze and resolve issues related to retirement plan benefits.
  • Research, analyze, and administer benefits related interfaces, to ensure file feed timeliness and accuracy; trouble shoot errors/issues and coordinate with HR, IT and/or external vendors to resolve.
  • Support JDE Human Resources, Benefits and Payroll system applications.
  • Reviews and ensures accurate reporting and payment of premiums, invoices and all other benefit-related expenses.
  • Audits employee enrollments for accuracy in vendor systems and for correct payroll deductions.
  • Provide reports and various data sets to support HR program initiatives including but not limited to AAP, EEO reporting, Vets, benefits, etc.
  • Analyzes, troubleshoots, and resolves moderate to complex issues reported by end-users via research and testing.

Minimum Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, Information Technology or a related field.
  • 3-5 years HRIS, Business Analyst, Compensation or Programmer/Analyst experience required.
  • Advanced/Expert Excel and Reporting/Analysis skills
  • Broad  experience/exposure to various facets of Human Resources including compensation and benefits, staffing and recruiting, training and development, employee relations, policy and procedures in a decentralized environment
  • Demonstrated ability to identify, gain support and deliver relevant reporting metrics.
  • Acts in a manner of integrity that shows support for the company, its values, and the employees, while maintaining a constant focus on meeting/exceeding customer requirements and expectations.  Committed to quality work, confidentiality and continuous improvement.
  • Experience with Payroll and Benefits in a multi-state environment
  • Ability to collaborate well with all levels of personnel within the company
  • Knowledge of local, state, and federal laws governing compensation practices

  • Ability to adapt quickly adapt to change across multiple business units

Preferred Requirements

  • Prior experience with report writing and reporting tool knowledge i.e.: crystal reporting, ADPR, reportsmith
  • Experience with JD Edwards HCM module - Payroll and Human Resources; ADP; Workday or Ceridian
