Key Responsibilities
Follow and promote safe work practices
Ensure installation meets Palmetto State Glass and Manufacturer’s installation quality standards
Review and understand project specifications, timeline, and budget
Ensure that you have all tools and equipment necessary to complete project
Execute project to timeline and budget
Coordinate with Site Superintendent; advise of protective steps that must be taken by other trades in conjunction with subsequent adjacent work
Prepare daily for next day and weeks upcoming projects
Control and organize project materials in shop
Maintain assigned company truck and equipment
Assign work and train Helpers with work duties
Measure jobs
Identify materials required for City Service projects
Submit sketches so shop drawings can be produced
Submit written request for project materials and supplies including; caulk, tape, paint, backer rod, and screws
Submit written request for needed tools and safety equipment
Communicate with Site Superintendent and Project Manager as needed
Receive and confirm delivery of project materials and supplies; report material damage or shortages
Fabricate storefront and curtain wall
Cut glass and mirrors
Install storefront, curtain wall, doors, hardware and glass
Fabricate and install break metal
Caulk
Conduct daily quality assurance audits throughout project
