JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for producing HVAC and plumbing estimates for projects with a primary focus in government buildings. Collaborates with a staff of estimators to create a competitive advantage over the competition.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Performs quantity surveys and estimates based on project plans and specifications or design criteria in design-build projects.
- Read, understand design criteria for design-build projects.
- Prepares and issues bid documents to prospective vendors and subcontractors.
- Writes and issues contract documents for subcontractors and material vendors.
- Consults with Design Build Coordinators during design on Design-Build projects as needed.
- Reviews design development documents for compliance with project requirements.
- Must have job related technical knowledge necessary to complete assignments.
- Able to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner, with knowledge of current estimating techniques and solutions.
- Performs other duties as may be assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
Education/Experience: Minimum high school diploma/GED and five years of experience in commercial mechanical estimating with some experience in both Design Bid Build and Design Build.
Certifications, Licenses, etc.: non specific
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Effective verbal communication skills. Excellent organizational skills. Must have a thorough knowledge of construction methods, materials and equipment. Proficient in interpreting construction drawings. Previous knowledge of estimating software preferred.
