Position Overview:

The Redi-Mix Plant Manager is responsible to manage employees and production at a Redi-Mix Plant, in addition to following safety and operational guidelines, checking for concrete quality and loading according to tickets and maintain courteous customer relations. The Redi-Mix Plant Manager is a full time position, requires regular travel and overtime with occasional weekends through peak season.

Essential Duties and Functions:

  • Batch concrete using manual and computerized systems, such as Alkon’s Spectrum, Command Batch software, and Rice Lake Batch Controller
  • Troubleshoot problems in a dry batch concrete plant and with rear discharge mixers
  • Process customer orders and determine yardage
  • Schedule available trucks to meet the orders
  • Communicate professionally with customers and have ability to attract future business
  • Have a basic knowledge of concrete finishing problems and their causes
  • Train, motivate and give direction and discipline to employees under their supervision
  • Self-motivated and have ability to solve problems as they arise
  • Order and coordinate deliveries from our suppliers as well as internal inventory
  • Utilize your working knowledge of various ACI tests
  • Follow direction from management
  • Promote a safe work environment while facilitating weekly management and safety meetings
  • Balance profitability with business reinvestment
  • Maintain and account for all equipment that is assigned to their plant
  • Address employee grievances and issue discipline as necessary
  • Responsible for office administrative duties including, but not limited to payroll, invoice approvals, ticketing and managing inventory
  • Cross-train with applicable positions

Position Requirements:

  • Consent to authorization of a pre-employment work screen
  • Must be able to pass a drug test
  • Consent to authorization of a pre-employment Motor Vehicle Record request
  • Up to one year of mechanical experience
  • Class B CDL
  • Experience with Microsoft Office tools
  • High level of reasoning abilities (i.e. Meeting deadlines, Prioritize Company and customer needs, serve as a leader to both peers and direct reports)
  • Basic mathematical skills (i.e. Add, Subtract, Multiply, Divide)
  • Possess excellent communication skills in both written and verbal forms

Preferred Skills and Knowledge:

  • OSHA Training
  • Fabrication skills
  • Loader experience
