Mennonite Village is a well-respected not-for-profit Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC) with a 70+ year history. We are currently hiring a Full Time Building Maintenance Coordinator to be responsible for performing, coordinating, and supervising various tasks involved in the maintaining of all buildings and campus living units. The position is also responsible for providing the level of supervision necessary to ensure that services are provided in an efficient, cost effective and expedient manner.

 ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 

  • Assists in planning, scheduling, and supervising general maintenance staff.
  • Meets with the different area admin personnel related to expectations, materials and schedules concerning maintenance issues within the different buildings.
  • Ensures all work orders and PM's are successfully completed in a timely fashion and according to plans.
  • Performs and supervises maintenance, repairs and refurbishment of residence homes throughout the community to include minor plumbing, plastering, electrical, flooring, appliances, and carpentry.
  • Fills backup role for Building Maintenance Supervisor.
  • Shares duty with Supervisor as resource for pager duty questions and resolution.
  • Oversees subcontractor scheduling and work.
  • Assigns maintenance crews to specific jobs and spot checks work to insure that workmanship meets standards and that safety and building standards are complied with.
  • May occasionally be required to pick up supplies or run errands off property.
  • Performs general maintenance duties, preventive maintenance, service calls, and emergency maintenance.
  • Provides on-the-job training for general maintenance staff.
  • Inspects equipment to determine repair or maintenance needs and cleanliness.
  • Recommends personnel actions.
  • Participates in controlling job costs.
  • Maintains pertinent records, reports, and studies.
  • Attends in-service training and education sessions, as assigned.
  • Works in safe manner and requires the same of those supervised.
  • Regular attendance and punctuality is an essential function of the job.
  • Abides by the HIPAA policies and reports to a supervisor, breaches (or violations) of our HIPAA policies.
  • Immediately reports identified hazards or hazardous conditions to a supervisor.
  • Immediately reports adverse events and near misses to a supervisor.
  • Attends mandatory training on HIPPA and compliance annually.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Technical School graduate or two years of experience in building maintenance.
  • High level of troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to spend a large part of the day moving quickly, bending, stooping, squatting, and twisting.
  • Ability to climb ladders and stairs.
  • Ability to push, pull, lift and carry up to 50 lbs. approximately 100 ft.
  • Requires manual coordination to equipment, control knobs, switches, etc.
  • Ability to coordinate hands and eyes rapidly and accurately.
  • Proficient in English in reading, writing and speaking.
  • Must meet Mennonite Village’s driver qualifications.
  • Possess a valid Oregon driver’s license
  • Aware of the importance of the philosophy of the Mennonite Home of Albany, INC.
  • Possession of a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Some formal education in building maintenance related area desired.
  • Able to supervise others and communicate effectively.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of use and care of trade related tools and equipment.
  • Ability to make decisions, prioritize work load and respond appropriately to change.
  • Ability to see, hear, feel and smell within normal limits.
