Position Summary:

This position will be responsible for leading and executing Kraus-Anderson’s business development and project planning for the Commercial Business Unit. The Commercial Business Unit tracks and builds projects in multiple market sectors including warehouse/distribution, manufacturing, corporate, office, bio medical, retail, hospitality, data centers, and others.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Works in direct collaboration with the Commercial Business Unit Construction Executive to align with KA’s growth strategy.
  • Identifies potential customers, business partners and, develops strategic relationships.
  • Assist clients in early project development.(facilitating in-house resources as required)
    • Facility Assessment
    • Development
    • Programing
    • Pre-Construction
  • Assists in proposal and interview process and strategy.
  • Lead office business development meetings and manage/track all business development activities and reporting.
  • Promote and support seller doer culture among project managers.
  • Develops annual marketing and business development plans
  • Assist CE and DOO in development of business unit’s strategic planning efforts
  • Collaborates with appropriate stake holders in developing annual sales goals
  • Works with CE and DOO in tracking and booking sales during the course of the year
  • Assist in developing opportunity and key account management plans
  • Prepares annual marketing budget.
  • Active in related trade associations.
  • Attend trade shows and educate government agencies on construction delivery models
  • Develops new market initiatives, assesses new markets and analyzes business opportunities.
  • Help promote and lead community involvement activities.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Construction Management and/or Business Development, Marketing, Public Relations or related coursework
  • Minimum seven years related experience
  • Understand the duties of a construction manager and project manager duties
  • Demonstrated computer proficiency (MS Office – Word, Excel and Outlook)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service
  • Ability to use time productively, maximize efficiency and meet challenging work goals
  • Ability to maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures
  • Ability to possess and maintain exceptional work ethic as well as uphold company values and demand the highest standard of conduct from self and others

Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Construction industry experience preferred
