Job Summary

The Field General Superintendent will provide oversight of all residential field operations, management and direction of foremen, and all field employees. The position will ensure that all resources of the company are managed and coordinated in an efficient and professional manner on all projects, in order to perform work within the budget and ahead of schedule. The superintendent will be responsible for managing, coordinating, and monitoring the progress of multiple projects vs plans (safety, schedule, quality, scope and cost) on-site for the duration of the projects.  They will provide technical expertise around the planning and execution of residential HVAC construction projects, and contribute to the development of best practices.  

 

Responsibilities

  • Studies job designs and specifications to determine appropriate construction methods and labor requirements and reviews, coordinates, and ensures effective dispatch of workers to the site.

  • Coordinates all on-site activities and supervises all field personnel as required to successfully complete projects on schedule, within budget, and to the customer’s satisfaction.

  • Validates schedule progression and adherence and ensures project scope is completed per the specifications of the project manager.

  • Conducts frequent daily reviews of the work being executed by field personnel to ensure the quality of the work executed aligns with Crawford’s expectations and standards.

  • Prepares and maintains schedules and proactively identifies and resolves issues related to project and scope changes, bad weather, delivery delays, emergencies, etc., in order to minimize impact.

  • Promotes job site safety, encourages safe work place practices and rectifies job site hazards immediately

  • Plans, organizes and staffs field positions to accommodate the specific project requirements and is responsible for their performance and development.

 

Qualifications

  • College degree preferred, but not required
  • 10 + years of field experience, preferably in a supervisory capacity
  • Strong HVAC knowledge
  • Experienced in managing multiple projects, scheduling, field supervision, and quality control
  • Must be able to read and comprehend plans and modify layouts as needed
  • Strong organizational skills, able to multi-task, and can manage time to meet frequently changing deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Highly developed oral and written communication skills, fluent in English (Spanish a plus)
  • Ability to work fluctuating work schedules and extensive work hours in the field
  • Basic computer knowledge (Microsoft Outlook, Word & Excel)
  • Quick, sharp, confident, assertive, ethical and ambitious
  • Clean background and driving record
