The Project Manager Team Leader will be responsible for the administration, implementation, and management of the project fulfillment processes, in it’s goal of operational excellence, support of overall strategic objectives and accountable for overall project quality and financial results.
- Ensure that quality standards are maintained, after an order is closed, for contracting process and functions required for execution and customer satisfaction, including new equipment, existing building services, and building automation.
- Overall contracting responsibility for the following functions within the categories of new equipment and existing building services: order validation, order entry, order follow up, customer inquiry, engineering, submittals, project management, warranties, claims, and resource allocations.
- Responsible for achieving mission objectives regarding profit and resource goals.
- Monitor, measure, and modify process and process measurements to effectively and efficiently meet client needs.
- Management of the fulfillment of a portfolio of projects: Retrofit and Replacement.
- Develop and maintain a file of subcontractors in electrical and mechanical contracting and engineering, that are a reliable source of fulfillment services, consistent with the Damuth brand.
- Risk Manager for scope of work, completion dates/milestones, quality and financial targets.
- Monitor and assess fulfillment capabilities in engineering, project management and technicians, such they are consistent with the needs of the sales pipeline.
- Interact with Sales to ensure smooth hand off of projects from the sales process.
- Accountable for written documentation of sales and client turnover and close out processes including project turnover from sales, initial client project overview meetings, regular client update meetings on progress, and client project close out meetings.
- Accountable for consistent written documentation to be saved to individual job files for all sales and client turnover, update, and close out meetings.
- Manage project manager performance for effectiveness and efficiency in relation to customer service and center profitability.
- Maintain quality standards by supervising and inspecting job sites.
- Complete required Safety Observations Cards and Safety Training by the completion due dates, as assigned.
- Responsible for keeping abreast of Trane products, product design, and requirements for installation as well as working knowledge of HVAC principles.
- Responsible for keeping abreast of external market conditions and internal requirements related to existing building sales, building automation systems and new construction sales.
- Responsible for compliance with internal contracting processes.
- Flexibility to work outside normal work hours/weekends, as needed.
- Provide support to sales team, may include visiting customers.
Education and Experience
- Required - Extensive Project Management experience in the mechanical field/trade
- Required - Associate degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology or Business Management plus 3 years of experience in engineering or construction management; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Required - Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products including Word, Outlook, Excel and Project.
- Required - 3 years of operational and/or financial leadership experience, preferably within the HVAC/construction industry
- Required - 3 years related contracting experience (a Minimum of (10) Projects >$250,000 each)
- Required - Familiarity with the design and operation of HVAC systems, equipment replacement and mechanical/electrical subcontracting
Certificates, Licenses and Registrations
- Required - Willingness to become a member of ASHE, ASHRAE, AGC, USGBC, and other pertinent organizations critical to the mission.
- Required - Valid Driver’s license and good driving record required.
Special Skills
- Required - Excellent communication skills both written and oral.
- Required - Teaming Skills and the ability to work with a variety of personalities.
- Required - Experience in setting-up and maintaining project management software to assist in managing and forecasting critical path completion dates, cashflows and resource allocation.
- Required - Design-Build Project Management experience and expertise (Mechanical or General).
- Required - Exceptional customer service skills.
- Required - Strong organizational skills.
- Required - Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from customers, project managers, field technicians, public groups, boards of directors and Damuth Senior Leadership Team.
- Required - Ability to work through and coach project managers through project challenges.
- Required - Willingness to proactively engage and work through challenges with other stakeholders (sales, finance, subcontractors, vendors, finance).
- Required - Ability to read, analyze and interpret technical journals, financial reports and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from clients, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write and/or create effective memos, reports, presentations and documents.
- Required - Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
- Required - Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

- Ability to pass drug screening.
- Mobility within the office and on jobsite.
- Ability to lift and carry 25 pounds.
- Frequent travel locally as required to visit jobsites and subcontractors.
- Willing to travel out of town as needed.
- Able to prove U.S. Employment eligibility.
Work Environment:

- This position works in a typical office environment but also includes frequent visits to job sites, industrial plants and other commercial buildings undergoing new construction or renovation.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, but can be excessive in industrial facilities or at sites where construction work is in progress.
- During the job site visits, the employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; outside weather conditions; extreme heat; risk of electrical shock; and vibration.
- Proper PPE equipment must be used at all times while visiting industrial facilities, in construction zones and any job site that has the potential for a safety hazard.
- Coordinate any special safety PPE requirements with Damuth Safety Director.
