This position is responsible for account and project management, project quoting, submittal packages and promotion of concrete pavements and associated Cemstone companies and products. Represents Cemstone as a member of industry related associations and organizations, actively participates in industry trade shows, conducts product presentations to customer and owners, and is involved in community organizations.
Job Summary
- Retain existing customer base and markets while also seeking additional opportunities for expanding existing customer base, i.e. new customers, products, and markets.
- Maintain consistent prospecting activity to ensure optimum sales activity.
- Gain market share within existing and new customers thru the promotion of the complete line of Cemstone products and services including but not limited to; ready mix concrete, placing services, engineering services, Cemstone Supply, and aggregates. Integrate colleagues as needed into “bundled” sales opportunities.
- Using applicable project plans and specifications, prepare and or assist in the preparation of the necessary quotations for the Cemstone related products and services.
- Work closely and collaborate with Proposal Development Group to develop and maintain market knowledge, develop quotes and pricing on qualifying projects in the pursuit of profitable sales.
- Maintain contemporary market knowledge
- Assist in development of annual Civil Strategic Plan
- Demonstrate leadership and a fiduciary responsibility to Cemstone, while successfully pursuing and achieving overall customer satisfaction, retention, and growth. Perform duties in such a way as to ensure continual and consistent progress towards sales achievement.
- Work with Engineering Services in the development and optimization of current and new products and initiatives.
- Respond to all customer issues in a timely fashion and pursue resolution.
- Work with Credit Department to maintain customer terms and conditions.
- Complete corporate sales training program.
Minimum Qualifications
- Minimum Associates of Applied Science (A.A.S.) in Construction Management, Civil Engineering Technology, or similar.
- Concrete Industry Management (CIM) graduate or Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) in Civil Engineering or Construction Management from a four-year College or University preferred
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in civil, highway/heavy construction industry; outside sales experience preferred
- Must have a valid Driver’s License.
- Must be or be able to become ACI Certified Level I Field Technician as well as have or become ACI Certified Concrete Finisher Technician within one year of employment.
- Have extensive knowledge of the concrete industry and related materials.
- Must make cold calls or make direct contact in pursuit of new customers
- Proficient use of computer programs such as Microsoft 365, Power BI, as well as Customer Resource Management (CRM) software.
